Instead of "HEY PLAYER DO YOU WANT TO ____ OR ____" or even worse "press X to ____, press square to ____", it's more like, if you shoot The End at the docks, this actually significantly affects the story.

Dragon's Dogma where you can end up missing entire plotlinesa and dungeons, as well as characters for the ending

I felt like the first Witcher was good about this; maybe I just have a shoddy memory, but I feel like most of the time when you made a decision, you didn't really see the full result until later on when it was too late to save scum. The later games were not so good about it though.

The game has three branching story paths that effect things like character dialogue and boss battles, two of which would be almost impossible to stumble onto without the community telling you about them, and which path you get is a direct result of how you play the game.

I think you're right, although it's been a while since I played it too. The presentation of the choices was obvious, but not necessarily the consequences.

I remember a choice regarding the boy (Alvin?) that didn't play out until later.

I'd like multiple branches upon branches. most games just have like 2 branches of the story. how about you pick a branch....and then later you can do a branch of that branch. there could be like 10 different ultimate paths you can take

Well actually it doesn't. Minecraft, for example, is about twice as big as Earth. And then there's No Man's Sky.

But yeah, it's definitely up there.
