It was my favorite, cherished family dog that I've ever had in my entire life, and I'm destroyed over it. Like, he was only 10, had no signs of being sick, but then randomly during a vet visit for constipation, they discovered he had multiple organ failure, was dying, and we had to put him to sleep, out of fucking nowhere.
(I was already under a fuck ton of stress before this, dealing with police and lawyers and therapists from being involved in an assault last month when some stranger attacked me in public.)

Everyday this week I've had headaches on and off, with sensitivity to light, similar to migraines. Anyone ever experience stuff like this before? I know stress can cause migraines and headaches, but I dunno when to get worried about it or go to a doctor.

Also when I got attacked 3 weeks ago, I got slammed hard onto the ground on my back, though I didn't hit my head. Any medically inclined people here think the headaches could be related to that, like whiplash or something?

Damn, that's a shitty couple of weeks.

You need to take it easy. The stress of that assault, as well as the grief over your pet and the stress that comes with it, has probably put your body into a metric fuckton of strain. You might benefit from some therapy or a massage.

An impartial third party with experience in grief councilling can help lift a weight off your shoulders, even if you have close friends and family. Stress alone can rack up a terrible score on your body, and having someone hit those tense muscles can really help you feel better. The better you physically feel, the more resources you can put towards processing your mental health issues - issues which hit us all in times of crisis.

Hell, even have a family member or friend walk on your back if they aren't too heavy and the suggestion isn't too weird.

Probably a combination of stress, loss, and the damage you sustained in the assault. Have you mentioned this to a doctor?

See a doctor if you can afford it, likely to be injury and stress related but on the off chance its serious you should get checked.

I didn't see a doctor about the headaches yet since it's only just been the last week or so.

If they carry over into the next week, I'll probably look into it. Who do I go to? My primary doctor? An orthodontist? A neurologist?

Assuming theres no legal trouble involved, go to your pcp. He'll let you know if you need to see a specialist.

Check with your lawyer first if you are in a legal situation where a documented injury might help your case.

What happened? Mugging?

My wife and I were crossing the street in a parking lot, when some guy looked like he was trying to hit us. So we stepped back to get out of the way and I threw my hands out and yelled "what the fuck is wrong with you? We're pedestrians." And the guy got out of the car, stomped over, and then without any escalation grabbed me by the neck and started choking me, and actually lifted me in the air by my neck. Luckily there were some bystanders who came to help, and when he saw them running over, he slammed me down into the concrete on my back.

Yeah, fortunately I was contacted by an organization that helps crime victims. They hooked me up with a therapist there, and I've had two sessions so far.

I'm not really sure where to look for massages though. Like, I know there's plenty of spas and shit around here, but I imagine I need like a medical-grade place that takes insurance, not an expensive one attached to a gym or something.

Oh man, so using a heat pack on my neck is helping a lot with both the neck pain and headaches.

I guess I should find a masseuse since I can't walk around with one of these things on my neck everywhere.

Wait, is this a legit thing? Like, does it matter how or where they walk? Will it crack your back?
