Depends on how actually motivating the speaker CONSISTENTLY is.

i just hate how its always the same thing every time.

I used to think it was lame but there are some really effective speakers and if they can inspire/excite you about a topic, then that's a skill in itself.

I had to go to one of those speeches once and they gave out swag bags. I still have one of those little birds with a weight in its beak so it balances and one of those annoying dog clickers. They were in some way relevant to his speech but I can't remember how.
