Story wise it was basically a watered down and abridged version of a bunch of the anime storylines. But besides nerfing Kuze and not giving best cinnamon roll Togusa any screen time I thought it was competently told.

Visually it was pretty slick. And there were tons of Easter eggs and shout outs to the source material.

actor who played Bato was great.

Some goofus decided to fall into both the robot means no personality AND amnesia means no personality memes and ScarJo managed to be incredibly boring in her portrayal. She almost looked like an anime character though so it wasnt so bad.

not sure if we never needed your consent was supposed to be feminist commentary or anti-establishment commentary. But the guys delivery was kind of hammy, I laughed.

Final fight was cool.

I wouldnt recommend it over any of the source material, but it was fun. >_>

I loved it. I've seen the first anime film but that's it. I do have the manga waiting to be read.

I thought the anime movie was mediocre so it's only normal that the film is worse than it.
