I like the more competitive nature of the battles compared to the main games. Other stuff like the storage and mini-games were nice, too. And I liked the music. Nostalgia to my ears!

Professor Oak's Lab. Made moving around Pokmon and Items so much easier than doing it in game. I also really loved Mystery Gift in Pokmon Stadium 2. I got some cool stuff that way.

The multiplayer ease of access. Being able to just pick random rentals and play together without having to play the gameboy games and use a link cable and all that hassle.

I loved the second game so much. I loved the battles, loved the announcer, loved most of the mini games, loved the challenges (like Little Cup, Gym leader castle), loved the speed up option for your cartridge games, loved the extra challenge in round 2.

And a very underrated part was the academy imo, I learned so much about the art of battle in that. I loved looking at the Pokemon stats, what their egg moves was, which Pokemon had the best stats and shit like that. Plus it thought me useful things like how going for the super effective move might not be the move that does the most damage. I think they even gave an example like how a Tauros Body Slam might do more damage to a Mantine than using Thunderbolt. Idk, there were alot of useful information there and I loved learning it.

I loved the idea of earning Pokemon that had a unique (at the time) move. Amnesia Psyduck, Surfing Pikachu, Baton Pass Far'Fetched and Earthquake Gligar.

Also the transfer pack was a severely underrated and underused N64/Gameboy accessory.

Mario Tennis and Golf did it too. I don't know if the N64 games transferred data to their Gameboy versions. I do remember being able to transfer all the Gameboy exclusive characters (with whatever stats you had earned) to the console version.
