Anyone else with psych issues on meds deal with this where its like the meds work and then boom everything is as bad as it was before meds? Maybe its just a rough patch but I feel like I did without any medication again.

honestly IDK if I need more medicine or just need to go to therapy and Im asking here because I dont need to worry people IRL + Ive discussed my meds w/other fellow medicated users

How long have you been on the meds

Sometimes theres a plateau effect where youre feeling good then drop off depending on what it is. Sometimes you power through and it gets back. Sometimes it may be a sign its not the right one for you

Since maaaybe October. Taking Pristiq and Rexulti (also on a beta blocker for migraines but that doesnt really affect much with my mood lol)

im just not SUPER familiar with antidepressants and antipsychotics (on both) and this feeling is like I was before with a side of sheer anger that I havent felt in a while lol

My drugs are just to ensure I stay out of the hospital. Honestly I dont think they really do much universally, probably works for some and not others.

Idk. Never been on a medication that actually improved my situation in terms of ability.

Edit: this post is more so "I can relate, but also not really". Emotional issues sounds like a side effect though.

Whens your next follow up

Id def talk to them if that keeps up/youve felt like that for a week or so/it gets worse. Might need to make dosage tweaks

Pristiq has probably reached its max effect if not close to that point on whatever dose youre taking. Rexulti can take a bit longer to reach max effect

My next follow up is in February

if it doesnt subside I definitely will, theres room to go up on my Pristiq too so that may be in order

Something at work set me off BAD last night and I just snapped and I havent given enough of a shit about anyone or anything to do that in months and thats when I realized theres a problem. Its been kinda creeping up but I just went off yesterday.

I also need a job that doesnt routinely make my mental health worse. Meds cant fix everything and if my job is causing me to need to up my meds then I need a new job, full stop.

yeah mine were really improving my mood which in turn improved my life and ability to just go do stuff. I wouldve been institutionalized if I hadnt gotten on meds to begin with tbh

How similar are narcotics and pharmaceuticals, anyway?

Like if you smoke weed for a month you get really high but after that there's diminishing returns

Also I've actually been off my meds for two weeks now and feel... ok. Not much different but more stressed from withdrawal, of course. But again like 90% of my actual problem is actually refer madness x_x

I see your meds play on dopamine and noradrenaline (as well as serotonin). I'm not sure how antidepressants work with serotonin in general but usually anything that impacts dopamine will build your tolerance up to a certain level and then stop working unless you up the dosage (through your doctor's review of course) or stop taking them for a moment.

It's the same thing it is with coffee, it stops working if you take it again and again and you need more.

I think you'll need to see your doc
