...uh... It's way more than this. Here's the best method I've known:

$1 Xbox live for a month, disable subscription.

*If you're lucky you'll also have available an offer for 3 months for $10 now appear This is repeatable as long as you cancel subscriptions each time. Do this for 2 years.
*Microsoft may also give you a free month each time you do this too. If you got it, great, it's been 9 free months you've done so your sub is at 2 years and 9 months. If not, go for another 6 months.

If you don't have that offer or don't want to spend that much, move on to the next part.

$1 game pass beta for pc
$1 game pass ultimate for 3 months will combine your current Xbox live subscriptions at a 1:1 exchange. Max 3 years.

Bare minimum you've got 5 months for $3.
