I have a friend that has 2 kids with some guy. According to her the lowlife has flown under the radar for years. Running away from his payments, and helped by his parents in hiding. One of them getting him an under the table job.

She cared for them by herself with no support until they were ages 11 and 13. At that point she sent them to live with him full time. Now theyre 15 and 17, and hes coming after her for child support.

Im not a lawyer but... doesnt he have more to lose? I mean she would owe him 12 years of child support(collectively for the 2), and he would owe 24 years of child support(again collectively).

But then again... the judge can do whatever the fuck he/she wants. Idk. Hence the question.

It just seems really hypocritical and pathetic to let someone struggle for years and then all of a sudden try to get more out of them.

I think it will come down to the judge, and any proof she can get. Though, it should be too hard for her to prove that she had them for a long time. But it's one of those weird cases. I do hope she wins, though. She if she can find proof that she had them for however many years. And try to get custody of them. If they like her more, or want to live with her, they'll have more say at that age...

Yeah things start getting really expensive during those years especially gearing up for college. You can't feed them baby mush anymore so you have to actually cook meals. The cute human pet accesory faze is over by then. He should get some help.

Yeah, usually guys that Ive worked with that pay for it seem pretty down.

My friends story is interesting for a lot of reasons... mostly because its rare to hear the dude trying to take the chick for support.

I was actually in that boat as well.

I was taken for child support but our lawyers did the calculation and she would have to pay me 10 dollars every month(that was funny), but then I got a new job and now I pay 600 a month(not as funny)

I also have 50/50 shared custody with the mom. So basically, I'm just giving her 600 dollars for no reason.

Guy I worked with did that. She was a real piece of work, and he got pissed at her one time when she called him needing more money for the kids for some school stuff (even though he was paying over $1k a month), and he finally got mad and was like "I ONLY HAVE TO PAY YOU FOR ANOTHER 16 FUCKING MONTHS AND THEN I'M DONE!"

She then had him reassessed. He had just gotten an inheritance from his mother's estate to the tune of 250k+... so they raised him by nearly double. At which point he was making less money than his bills paying out.

I've been in this game for about 4 years now.
We have a ironclad custody agreement. The last two times she took me to court she had people lie about my character, but it didn't match with her story and the judge literally said:" if you don't settle with this young man right now I'm throwing this case out because you are obviously lying in my court." I didn't even have to defend myself.

So at this point all of our conversations and text based or email. I refuse to leave myself open to some more bull.

So my friend said that her ex was a no show last time they were scheduled for court. Probably because the court discussed the money he owed her the time before that. That probably spooked the hell out of him.

Today he has a second chance to appear but if he doesnt then I think they throw the whole thing out.
