Showing up in red and khaki might work at target. A for effort?

At Target, they also have name tags and walkies on the sales floor.

Also, real life pro tip (epic gamer secret): Employees aren't allowed to shop lift either.

They use basic walkies and well, grab a name tag. The idea is you look less suspicious. When i worked retail i didnt bother others outside my area if they looked like they worked there. Plenty of new hires right now.

Having worked at Target, it would be trivial to get into the back room and take something without anyone batting an eye. You just have to act like you belong there and not arouse that much suspicion. You're not getting any big ticket items like electronics though since they keep those in a locked cage.

the problem is that management distrusts employees as much as they distrust shoppers

On the other hand, we've had people literally walk into the back rooms of Walmarts in a smock and take away multiple TVs without getting stopped.

Would have gotten away with it, with a little more patience.
