Its never really explained in the bible whether or not animals have souls

The general consensus is that they dont, but there is mention of animals in heaven getting along and no longer hunting and killing each other. Not all Christian believe the same things as well.

I'd like to believe that God even takes care of them in a way. The only difference is that they dont have free will like Humans do

Isaiah 11:6, "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them." (This sounds as if we will have pets in heaven, does it not?)

Isaiah 11:7-9, "The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobras hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the vipers den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea"

Isaiah 65:25, "The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD."

I suppose that makes animals atheists by default, which would make sense on the account that (presumably) animals have no concept of religion.

If they had no soul then nothing stopping them be recreated if indeed people in heaven want animals.

But the real answer is heaven is a place not made of physical flesh so what purpose is an animal there?

But, if they did have souls, them being your pet would be a violation of the everyone is equal under god heirarchy.

However, revealtions has heaven having creatures in it.
They are ofc like insane hp lovecraft monsters but just putting that out there.

Why? I'm all for aspiring to be kind, giving and selfless like Jesus. Those are values to live by.

Doesn't mean I necessarily think he was real, in the son of God way, or that there is an afterlife.

That's new to me. Heaven is depicted as a place made of clouds where everyone is wearing a gown, has wings, and plays a lyre. Knowing myself, I'd be worse than Cacofonix. But if I am not even corporeal, then what do I do then? Float around like as a spirit that does.... spirit things? Maybe that will be like being a sapient weed cloud, because if I'm just an ethereal mist floating by in a world made of endless cloud and sky for all of eternity, I would prefer to be permanently high off my mind.

I'm no theologian, but to the best of my knowledge there is no mention or white robes and clouds and stuff. Dunno where that came from. >_>

Kind of like the popular idea that hell is Satan's cool hideout and he's the boss of it, and he and his demons are their torturing souls. Pretty sure scripture says Satan was cast to the earth and will remain here until the events of Revelation where then he will be the one being punished in the lake of fire, not the one doing the punishing.

Depends on how literally you take it.

However, there is nothing that explicitly states that animals do not go to heaven

Guess the Bible didnt consider it a priority for humans to worry about animals over saving their own souls tbh

There are probably trees in heaven, but does a tree go to heaven when it dies? I don't think many people would say yes to that. Animals are in the same category as plants tbh. It's kinda sad but it also makes sense.

I can imagine that someone who has spent their entire life among animals and nurtured and cherished them with respect and love will be utterly heartbroken to learn heaven has no animals.
Afterall, heaven is supposedly paradise.

Psalm 78:39
For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

Romans 8:7
because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

1 Corinthians 15:53-55 King James Version (KJV)
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Tl;dr, God and heaven is all about the spirit.
The physical world is going to be destroyed. What is left is what you might liken to another dimension.

imo

At that point it seems like the only stuff we'd be allowed to do up there is all the good stuff we can do down here plus an unknown amount of what higher planes could provide being it would be an expanded reality & surely the best stuff is saved for the most high dimension.

But if it's like a "spirit plane with spirit bodies" type thing, & to physical bodies we resembled intangible holograms interacting with an intangible city (New Jerusalem); God sitting at the highest point of that sky city feels kind of "The Matrix-ish".

BUT if angels can bare children with human women (Nephilim) they were physical bodies & also had DNA compatible enough to sexually reproduce with our species. Based off that perspective maybe humans would be physically immortal prime forms in heaven as well.

~ imo

There's no biblical descriptions stating that they are immortal though, nor that they are given the chance of ressurection like Humans are.
