This is kinda an interesting thought experiment.

Hillary is often said to be the least popular democratic nominee and the only one trump could have beat.

If that is true, shouldn't that have meant Ted and etc could have beat her as well?

Yes, other Republicans would likely have beat her. Just like any other Democrat would likely have beat Trump

Yet she beat the other dems and Trump beat the other repubs

Depends on how much of the propaganda was driven by Trump being the opponent.

Trump had something over other other other Republican candidates. He was seen as a joke candidate but still won the Republican primaries acting the same way he does now, but promising things like "America First" and "drain the swamp"

Hillary definitely would have won over Ted Cruz. I think she would have won over Jeb Bush too. John Kasich may have won against her, but I think Hillary had enough positive name recognition (even with the negative name recognition) to win against him.

I think Clinton would have edged out the other contenders.

The whole "anti-establishment" meme doesn't work for the rest of the GOP. Granted, it should not have worked for Trump, but here we are.

I was of the opinion that Clinton was going to lose to any generic Republican in 2016 well before the election by about 2 points in the popular vote and several states in the electoral college do to "incumbent party fatigue", thought her chances skyrocketed when Trump was the nominee, and than she rolled out a pretty mediocre campaign and Trump used his brand of "conservative identity politics" to sew up enough of the Midwest to cruise to the current disaster we are witnessing.
