I don't understand why everyone is so pissed off about this thing.

Yeah, it's overpriced. Yes, an iPad as a better deal (although I prefer oled screens).

But damn, this is a really cool phone in an era where everything is so damn boring.

Because they're under the impression because you like it, means you bought into the idea that it's the new iPad killer. It's not, it's a piece of tech that might or might not get a second gen (and it looks like it will wiht morecompanies coming out with theirs).
Or it's possible they can't afford it and are raging or an apple fanboy

I think it's more that in this age where resource scarcity and climate change is such a big deal that people still seem to be as consumerist as ever and this just comes across as buying something for the sake of buying something because it's new rather than actually solving an issue.

As long as anyone buying this is aware of this fact, I think they're free to spend their money on it without running into too much scrutiny.

Unfortunately, many people who are interested in this phone are only so because they DO think it's a tablet killer, rather than a $2000 experiment

I don't really think the majority of people are buying it with the idea it's an iPad killer. The lack of the spen means it's nowhere near as good as (I think nearly all the newer iPads even the $300 works) the apple tablets with a pencil

I wanted one because I thought I could have one that doubled as a tablet for drawing and reading but it won't work for drawing so I skipped it.
I was planning on the thing breaking but EU has good policies for buyers so it wouldn't have bothered me.

A lot of reviewers and shills on YT or bloggers hype it up as an ipad killer. Everything is the ipad killer from android/windows except: iOS has the best fucking apps for a tablet. Google has pretty much abandoned it and hthe playstore is a joke. But even Microsoft are turning into dual screen phones. It's the future I think but it'll take another two gens

For what it's worth, I do think the new RAZR is really neat, although the idea of watching movies on a screen that wide is a turn-off for me

The thing for me is that even the best Galaxy phones cost half as much as the Note does right now and aside from the Fold gimmick, they're superior in features and functions in almost every way

The fold or note fold or whatever is what the iPad was. A proof of concept. Nothing more, nothing less.
It works and that's what Samsung banked on

I disagree, I think the fact that it's an experiment is precisely why people want it

The Fold is literally the exact same hardware as the Note 10+ except for the larger screen and no S Pen. The RAZR is the one with mid-range specs.
