I'd say I want a Motorola RAZR but $1500 for a phone whose only real noteworthiness is its foldability is a ripoff. The specs themselves are pretty bad for its price point.

The screen is made of soft plastic and putting even a little bit of pressure on it with a fingernail is enough to scratch it.

Basically a phone/tablet hybrid. Keep it folded up if on a call then fold it out for maps, games, etc. Tablets are great for media consumption, but wouldn't it be kind of cool to fold one away and put it in a pocket or bag if you wanted to store it?

I think the Fold is 4.6" on the small display and expands to 7.3" when folded out. You can have up to I believe 3 apps on screen at the same time which is 2 more apps than any iPhone.

7.3" isn't massive. The iPad Mini is 7.9". You'd have thought if they were competing for the tablet market they'd... you know... make it tablet sized?

3 apps on screen I can see a few use cases but not on a 7.3" screen.

Lol bro who cares if the iPad mini has a bigger screen? What can that iPad do that the Fold can't? If you're going to criticize the Fold, at least talk about its questionable screen durability or pricing. The Fold is meant to introduce a new form factor that is both smartphone and tablet in one device.

Nobody cares that an iPad mini has a larger display.

The iPad mini is like 7 years old dude. I'd like to think the Fold was better considering it costs upwards of $1,500. I was using it to point out that even the smallest Apple Tablet is bigger than the Galaxy Fold. If the Fold is trying to be a tablet then 7.3" isn't big enough to qualify in my opinion.

But you don't have a point because the Fold folds and the iPad doesn't. You purchase the Fold because it is a literal foldable device. No one is walking into a BB and saying "Gee, I'd like to get this here Fold but the iPad over there has a bigger screen." The Fold (and the new RAZR, Huawei Mate X, etc) uses bleeding edge tech in foldable displays and that's why people may want it.

You have a phone that changes into something that's basically a small tablet
Without the use of a style you cna still: read books properly, watch a larger screen, have more screen real estate so say an email on one screen, you rinformation on the other, etc.

For use wiht a proper stylus: better drawing space, more space to mark up, note taking is great, etc.

So 7.3 inches= 7.9 inches now?

Least the Mini has none of the downsides of the fold, including a plastic, easily damaged screen, screen discoloration by the crease, and an asymmetrical notch.

I personally think it's no more than a $2K experiment

But you have people here hyping it up to be this perfect tablet killer despite all of it's massive flaws and getting mad when people naturally aren't sold on that.

iPads are cheaper than ever now ($250) so price is no longer a contender here

not the best. It's actually way more difficult to understand unless you do it yourself, if there's an apple store near you go in and ask about the mini and split screen apps and you'll get a better idea, despite it being an iOS device, it's mostly the same idea.

Because they're under the impression because you like it, means you bought into the idea that it's the new iPad killer. It's not, it's a piece of tech that might or might not get a second gen (and it looks like it will wiht morecompanies coming out with theirs).
