Im not keen on Cavill but Im cautiously optimistic about The Witcher overall. Its cool seeing stuff from the books spring to life like this.

Finally got to watch the trailer. It has a strange vibe to it that really sets it apart from other seasons. Something almost a little Interstellar about it.

Also, at what point are we just going to let Tom Jane come back on the show permanently

I have not, and I doubt I will ever get to them, so if you want to spoiler me up, that's fine!

I've got such a backlog of books to read. I pretty much prioritize things in terms of likelihood they come up while I'm at work talking to customers.

That's completely understandable! Alright, here are some relatively light spoilers:

Thomas Jane will probs never rejoin the cast full-time again because a lot of the culmination of what he was brought back for is going to come to a head relatively soon. As for the different vibe behind this season relative to what came before -- absolutely! It's more "Interstellar" for sure. Season 4 will primarily be based on the fourth novel, "Cibola Burn." That book is kind of a mixed bag in the eyes of many fans (it's not bad, it's just plodding, especially compared to the rest of the books.) But from what Amazon has shown us, plus the fact that they're giving Bobbie some much-needed storyline for this phase of the story by adapting her dedicated novella this season since that's what she's off doing canonically anyway, I think we're in for a treat.

In any event, I'll still be watching. I don't have a lot of shows currently airing on my plate at the moment. Right now, I'm down to like 5 or 6 I think, so I definitely need this!

The Expanse books are long and different in some notable ways from the show.

Well, I'm only about halfway through book 2, but nevertheless.

My poor roommate is going to be heartbroken all over again. She absolutely loved Miller and became ecstatic when he "returned."

What have you been watching? My current plate is fairly slim as well. In terms of stuff that's either in-season or dropped all at once very recently...

I've watched the first two episodes of this season of The Crown, which I've enjoyed a lot in every respect aside from the actress playing Elizabeth. Good Place and Superstore are my comedies right now. Mandalorian on Disney+. Watchmen, The Good Doctor, and The Rookie (I would not recommend the last two to people, generally speaking, but I enjoy the casts a lot).

I'll be picking up His Dark Materials soon, and I'm curious about See and The Morning Show. I THINK that's everything I've got. The way things are put out now, though, it's tough to say "These are the shows I'm currently watching" since a season is wrapped in a week!

Orite. His Dark Materials. I need to get started on that (and possibly Watchmen as well). And I agree about the actress playing Elizabeth. She's not bad...but she's no Claire Foy...

Which is too bad because Bonham Carter actually has improved her role. Especially in this last episode with President Lex L- Clancy Brown.

I love it. I would have been game for Star Trek: Picard regardless but I was really hoping we'd see other 24th-century characters. And while the lack of DS9 alumni (at present at least) is disappointing, I think bringing Seven back is an inspired choice. Her character is rich with potential, I think.

I think you're on to something, yeah. The emotional stuff with Picard's feelings on Data's death + the ragtag Romulan survivors and that weird sign in the trailer behind them that said, like "[however many] days since Borg invasion" or whatever. It's entirely possible the lass who seeks Picard is some kind of AI creation, even.

That thought crossed my mind as well. Plus the fact that Picard would go to Riker makes me think Borgs first and foremost as well.

not thrilled at it being prime exclusive may have to think about this
