Cali people are horrific, I hope they don't come to my state :( it should be illegal for them to come to other states, they should have to pay more in taxes as a penalty for ruining their own.

expensive housing, high taxes, high living expenses, long commutes/heavy traffic, poop on streets, lots of homeless people, terrible high school education, one of the lowest IQ states in America, terrible lawmakers

California positives:
Great weather, great job market

Name a state with more financial opportunity than California.
It's great if you are upper middle class and above and completely isolate yourself from the bad parts

You all make it sound like California is heading the way of Blade Runner-Lite.

I just find it hilarious how everyones image of california comes from san francisco or LA when the vast majority of the state is nothing like that. And people have this image that everyone is a crazy hippie in california when there is a very large amount of people who live outside of the bay area and LA metro who are republican and trump supporters, and they are most concentrated in central valley and sutter county, where it seems like the majority of people are farmers, truck drivers, and manual laborers. I lived in central valley briefly and I've lived in the southeast, and I can tell you that its very similar living in both areas.

And there is so much variation in types of suburbs, theres something for everywhere. You want rich and snooty, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Los Altos. You want rich and non-snooty, Cupertino, South San jose, Mountain View to an extent. You want bargain family neighborhoods? Milpitis, Tracy, Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, Natomas, Morgan Hill, some parts of San Jose. You want new development thats affordable, Tracy, Roseville, Rocklin, etc. You have money and you want to live well without getting ripped off? Granite bay, el dorado hills, morgan hill, etc.

Theres plenty of smaller cities in between that fit the bill too.
