and, under the new dispute system it's voted on by a bunch of moderators, does anybody wish they would put the vote total in your appeal, like how many votes you got to overturn etc......and how about do you wish they would leave a message with your appeal, now they don't have to, they just say like, upheld without any sort of a message, just that.

Absolutely? No. Id say I was toeing the line and felt like it was just within the line. They believed it was on the other side.

Wait, years ago I got warned for generalizing white people in a topic that was blatantly generalizing black people. But I think those type of mods got put in their place these days. I've made similar comments since and been fine.

yeah maybe some of the mods don't take it all that seriously either. Have heard at least one user say a mod admitted that he didn't even look at what the user wrote in the appeal, so why bother typing all that shit out?

No, I cannot say that I have. Frankly, all of my interactions with moderators have been extremely pleasant, and they are incredibly open and forthcoming when I ask them serious questions about certain egregious faults, recognized by all users as such, in the moderation system.

Honestly, no. I got modded for a spoiler that wasn't actually a spoiler once, but I explained that and got it overturned. Other than that, I've deserved it. Not that I've been modded much anyway. I don't post much that's "out there". I'm probably just a "goody two-shoes" lol.

Well, in old dispute system after several disputes you might have figured this out.

You are correct in that belief, my friend. Every single one of the moderators here are paragons of virtue and reason, with no dogma, no self-interest, and no stubborn avoidance of legitimate concerns held by the vast majority of this sites users.

The only unfair/wrong moderation I've had happened nearly 10 years ago when an alt of mine got warned while discussing killing off certain video game characters. Apparently some mod thought I was talking about wanting to kill someone in real life, or another user on the site. It was just an alt so it didn't affect my main, and disputing was such an unneeded hassle so I just brushed it off while laughing at the incompetence of the mod who was responsible, whoever it was.

I haven't been modded even once under the new, recent dispute system, so I haven't looked up what's exactly changed, and honestly, I don't care too much about it anyway.

And yes, Ive had several horseshit moderations that are clearly out of spite, that broke no rules.

One example, a mod made a post many users misread and said mod said something along the lines of is this the part where you guys take what I said out of context and blame me and blah blah blah

My response was yes, obviously

BOOM! Suspension. Moral of the story is dont try and be humorous when a mod is crying and throwing a tantrum. Its against the rules.

There was that time with the Stellaris reference and when I censored a swear instead of letting the auto-censor handle it because that matters.

Then there's one that isn't mine but I find it amusing where someone got modded for jokingly calling someone a dummy. It was in 2009 and it's still kind of funny.

you still can't draw out the word shit for dramatic effect because the site thinks you're trying to bypass the censors while also telling you it's not a restricted word

if you get banned on a subreddit most of them will actively try to keep you out rather than let you infinitely come back on new alts, shitpost for a week before banning you again, and repeat the cycle into infinity

I've had three total 180 day purgatories and the two most recent were nothing that should've warranted anything worse than a warning or 2 week suspension

Probably like close to a decade ago,before you could edit posts, I once forgot a "p" in "rapped" so I made a post that contained "raped" instead, and I got Warned and was told when I disputed it that I was lucky it wasn't worse. I disputed it all the way up to the Admin level but got nothing.

It wasn't some offhand comment-type post that was like a couple words long. It was a few sentences long and related directly to the discussion of the topic, so anyone who put any thought into it would know through context that it was obviously a typo. Plus "raped" made zero context within the post itself.

I would have said that was the worst moderation I received, until I got a 1-month Purg earlier this year for referring to a user claiming to be female as a male despite members of the Mod staff publicly admitting they knew said user was lying to try and get users modded.

Yes, Reddit actually has ban evasion as one of the things that violates its ToU, so if you get banned off a subreddit and try and come back on an alt, the Admins can chose to ban your regular account from Reddit period.
