Well me personally I don't see the difference, but I get what you are saying. But I wouldn't expect people that support the kind of person Trump, or Trump himself to shame people for that behavior. I don't really think the dude should get jail time, but with that woman sustaining that amount of injuries it was clearly an overreaction on his part, in my opinion. But I don't know what would be a fair punishment to deter others reacting this way with violence.

I've listened to many stories from women who have talked about how they were told they "provoked" their own rape because of things said at a bar/while drunk. You can argue about what was said, but it will never justify assault of any kind.
