I must say that the game received rave reviews, especially in Europe and Japan. Here in the United States, however, we have had stronger criticisms. Perhaps it is a difficult game to understand for a certain type of critic and audience. Americans are great fans of first-person shooters and Death Stranding isn't one, it flies higher.

I always try to create new things and disputes and discussions are fine, but it must be said that the Italians or the French have a different artistic sensibility that allows them to appreciate this kind of very original product, not only in video games but also in cinema.

Tbf in his games, guns are mostly just an option. It's your choice if you want to actually make it a heavy gun game.

Wut? I didn't say anything about not enough action. Also mgs2 and mgs3 aren't a fetch quest games. Never heard anyone have that complaint about mgs2 or mgs3.

I think the 'not enough action' thing was more directed to Splinter Cell games.

MGS2 was controversial due to the marketing bait and switch.

I remember just replaying certain levels/areas in MGS3 over and over just roleplaying with different costumes and thinking up different ways to subdue the enemies. It did have plenty of action if you wanted it to, youre right.

Not to mention being able to travel to a hellscape and slice up demons with a samurai sword or whatever lol

MGS3 makes you directly face every person you killed with the way you killed them still visible on them. You didn't have to kill any of them, and yet you did. Having the option to commit violent acts does not mean the game endorses violent acts.

In my case, I did have to kill them because I was bad at the game.

I really loved that section though.

I mean, the whole Metal Gear series revolves around the role of soldiers and patriotism in warfare and the necessity, evils, and everything in between when it comes to the morality of warfare. It's funny that someone would just see guns and think "omg he made a shooter what a hypocrite".
