Live action Beauty and the Beast is phoned in and pointless.

Live action Aladdin should be called 'how to rape your favorite disney songs for fun and profit'.

Live action Lion King might be the worst movie made by the company since Chicken Little.

They literally sing Can You Feel the Love Tonight during the day for no apparent reason other than I assume they were too lazy to get the lighting to work.

Also you'd think adding 40 minutes to a movie they'd expand on something. But all they seem to have done is change the Hyenas for the sake of changing the Hyenas. They don't gain any character(Arguably, they lose a bit).

And then a long scene that seems to ineffectively hammer home the circle of life because they thought the audience was too stupid to understand it beforehand(And its not even correct because Simba is still alive so you arent even making a circle at that point).

Oh, and to continue hating on TLK, we'd already seen fairly well done emotive cgi animals in The Jungle Book which had way more justification for being made into a live action film than the stretched out scene for scene recreation of The Lion King they shoveled out.

Oh, and every song was significantly inferior to the animated movie. To the point it felt the movie was just someone spitting on all the originals.

It's close between Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. Difficult to remove my Emma Watson crush from the equation. Aladdin solidly in third, though.

The, uh, impassioned hatred for Lion King is surprising. Aladdin flirted with being unbearable at certain points with Genie's cheesy humor.

Instead of Nala having to expand her hunting grounds like what is supposed to happen to show Scar is fucking things up with the circle of life she gets like a 5 minute scene of her sneaking out because Scar is now extra rapey.

I guess like 30 seconds is fleshed out of Scar no longer lusting for power but instead literally lusting for Sarabi.

Because that was somehow necessary.

Also I did a watchthrough of a trio of unnecessary Disney property movies last month with Aladdin/Toy Story 4/The Lion King.

None needed to exist.

I haven't seen TLK and don't really want to. It's too bad TLK is currently the 7th highest grossing film of all time because that's just gonna encourage them to keep doing this.

Scar was originally lusting after adult Nala in the original Lion King before they cut it!

Speaking of the remake being longer... they really should have shown Timon's backstory of becoming an outcast.

But what made me mad was taking out all the slapstick. I don't know whether Disney was trying to make it more realistic or if Zazu getting crushed/trampled/burned offends animal rights activists.

I thought BatB was great, though. I don't get how divisive the poll is over it.

Worse was the inferior voice acting... I guess its hard replacing Whoopie Goldberg and Rowan Atkinson....

Animated Lion King > Animated Beauty and the Beast > Animated Aladdin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Live-action Aladdin = Live-action Beauty and the Beast >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CGI Lion King (ok I didn't even go to see that one but still)

The only live-action Disney remake worth a damn is the one where they actually changed things: Sleeping Beauty being from Maleficent's POV (the sequel was shit though).

The animated versions are all in my top 25 movies ever and didn't really need to be remade. Disney could've released a limited-run remaster to theaters and made a killing despite minimal effort.
