Would you believe Tidus is my favorite character in the field too.

I would implore anyone in this boat to vote for the FF character they dislike the least (even if it's not Auron), and use their H2 vote if applicable to vote against whichever character they dislike the most (even if it IS Auron). I mean... isn't the name of the game Save my Favorite Final Fantasy Character? Mine went out in 54th and I'm still out here fighting for the best result. Why not you guys too?

Thats basically how I feel too.

I was a huge fan of the Seph win.

The only other one I wanted was Celes. It didn't happen.

I wouldn't say X-2 made Yuna worse really, it was some decent character development without being annoying or dramatically changing her much without a good reason.

Rikku's definitely terrible in the game though.

I got Ramza a top ten almost solo, lets see if I can go... higher

(I kinda want to do Delita or Aggy/Wiegraf more but I have no problem saving my favorite final fantasy character)

btw my biggest regret is probably playing too conservative, may be more of a loose cannon next year lets see

I love the storyline of pitting the naturally strong against each other to reap the rewards of being dragged to the final as a goat.

Of course, I don't for a second believe the fans of either character would not want to watch the contest burn if the other one's fanbase chose Edward over the other. It should've happened the year Sephiroth finished 3rd (or was that 4th?), but Steiner was just too much to overcome and he would've lost anyway. if I'm being honest.

In all sincerity, if the finals are Auron/Edward I'd put 10 saves to Auron.

I never did post my top 15 rankings, this is what they were at the time. A lot shifted since that point but in the spirit of honest transparency this is what it was after Yuffie's elimination.

Barret
Red XIII
Auron
Kefka
Quina
Seymour
Squall
Garnet
Edward
Gaffgarion
Red Mage
Gilgamesh
Rydia

Top of the non-Lightning, non-FF7 characters. Auron is a great character and any other year I'd support him in this situation, just like I'd have supported Kefka.

So yeah, I'd put 10 saves on Auron. I would hate it so much, that we couldn't put what happened last year to rest, that she couldn't get justice. It would always nag at me that we got so close to correcting it but couldn't. But I wouldn't spite-save Edward in the finals because of that.

I honestly don't believe Lightning will ever get this close again. A lot of luck was needed to get to this point, a lot of things going perfectly. Alliances, previous allies returning, me taking an obsessive interest. There were rounds she was seconds from elimination. She has more people ready to anti-vote her than anyone else who made the top 10, maybe the whole contest (outside of the BD characters).

I just hope we can bring it home, especially for swordz.
