I took Broadcast Journalism (lol) of all things my first go around in college, and our professors had usually been in the business 10 years+ (Three of them were 40 year vets) before being able to get the teaching positions. Obviously nursing is nothing like what I took, but I have friends who just graduated nursing who still can't get work that doesn't pay them table scraps. I tried getting a weekend position too just for the extra cash without the mandatory OT. Our weekend nurses start at 35/hr depending on experience. It would be nice to make that without having to be called in all the time as a full timer. Im also a general ICU nurse. Our icu takes a little bit of everything. We also have a stroke unit that we float to occasionally. Im looking to start traveling soon.
