I see how hard they work but some of these mistakes really couldve been fixed with a simple proofreading prior to yeeting the assignment in the Dropbox. Going from YASSSS HUNTY to OH NO BABY WHAT IS U DOIN within 2 slides. A modern tragedy!

Context, and previous interactions with a certain individual, also mean nothing I see.

You're the only person being "really combative" ITT.

Or in real life in general.

I'm not even being an asshole, either, and I know when I'm genuinely, inexcusably, being an ass. Even if I don't always apologize, I know when I'm being like that.

That about sums up your argument against what I'm saying, as you don't have one. "Lol" isn't a useful response or proof of me being an asshole simply because you in particular disliked the way I chose to phrase a question.

It wasnt an argument until someone started white knighting.

I understand that some dont know the nuance of certain professions, like how generally people who teach nursing students have to go to school to learn how to teach. I dont know shit about the classes youve taken, for example Cant be an expert at everything.

Yeah it feels really bad. Thankfully no one is even doing that bad, I just feel like I'm being too nitpicky and hard on these tired students. I know their pain, I was one of them in the not too distant past.

What do you teach? I try to remember that in my profession, I wouldn't want someone responsible for my care who accepted the bare minimum. And balance that with the effort they do put in and the difficulty of being where they are in undergrad.

I was teaching physics and astronomy
I was also doing my masters at the same time, so I was still a student and didn't feel disconnected from them

Yeah that's why I'm trying to not be too harsh because we've ALL been there. Shit, I only graduated college last May... I have no room to be snooty and overly judgmental but I do need to adhere to the standards my prof holds them by, if that makes sense.

Surprised they have you teaching so fast after graduation.

I took Broadcast Journalism (lol) of all things my first go around in college, and our professors had usually been in the business 10 years+ (Three of them were 40 year vets) before being able to get the teaching positions.

Obviously nursing is nothing like what I took, but I have friends who just graduated nursing who still can't get work that doesn't pay them table scraps. Did you apply for a teaching position or is it just something you have to do in the States after grad?

Nursing pay can REALLLLYYY suck after graduating... lets just say we arent all fancy Cali-bound travel RNs living the life lol.
Im a teaching assistant with grading privileges because Im in grad school for nursing education and my prof fought for me to have those privileges earlier before some of my core education classes. Very grateful for this honestly as it gives so much insight.

I'm not grading a more critical core course, this one is very fluffy so to speak so I honestly can't judge that. Fluff work is easy enough to bullshit your way through.

Yeah a lot of girls I know learned this the hard way.

A friend from HS was a Dean's Lister in University, then was promptly stuck for three years as a pre-natal nurse making less then 35 K Canadian a year. Lucky for her she just got a ER job on the mainland a few months back so she's finally living the fancy pants life she was promised in Career Days lmao.

Man. I tried getting a weekend position too just for the extra cash without the mandatory OT. Our weekend nurses start at 35/hr depending on experience. It would be nice to make that without having to be called in all the time as a full timer.

Im also a general ICU nurse. Our icu takes a little bit of everything. We also have a stroke unit that we float to occasionally. Im looking to start traveling soon. Hopefully will get more specialized icu experienced.
