Is it just jealously?

I'm supposed to be jealous of California when I live in Hawaii?

lol, as bad as certain aspects are here, Cali is twice as worse in practically all regards.

Hawaii is nice. Still prefer the weather of Cali

Hawaii suffers very very similar issues as Cali such as homelessness because the weather is so good. there is definitely issues of people moving out to hawaii then failing economically and being stuck on the island.

considering california's politica views entirely coincide with every western power i strongly disagree.

cali is one of the primary states that tried to prevent trump, so this factor is even moreso right now

Aside from food, wine and dining what does California have to brag about ?

California looks far too diverse for me.

Why would I want to risk having to club or kill someone every time I walk outside because one doesn't agree with me ?

I will agree that noncoastal cities can be less pleasent

I dont hate it per se (Id like to live in a coastal state) but I will say that theres something wrong with a part of the country that is constantly catching fire.

Lived in LA almost my entire life and worked in HVAC. Didn't like how much dirtier it became, how unaffordable it was, and all the soul sucking traffic.

LA is universally considered one of the worst places to live in the country, let alone Cali. There are so many other amazing places in california like tahoe etc.

i think many do think the criticisms are valid, just not really that big of a deal. homeless people dont bother me. most are mentally ill (more than half have schizophrenia) and from all over the country. they often have interesting stories

i work as a nurse and care for them everyday

I don't like celebrity worship culture, i don't like Lakers fans, and i don't like the sense of Californian exceptionalism - especially regarding food. A Californian would probably try and tell me they have better middle eastern food than Dearborn - even though it has one of the biggest Muslim populations in the US; they'll also say they have better ice cream than the midwest - when tons of flavors originated here, or they'll say they have better Mexican than Mexico, Japanese than Japan, etc. It's just ridiculous.

Otherwise i probably agree with a ton of their politics and wouldn't dislike them

also all the produce in the country is grown there, for the most part.

celebrity worship culture has nothing to do with California. i have literally never met anyone who cares about celebrities. did you get that vibe from television shows?
