It released October 4th.

Only one patch, which came out over two weeks ago, dropped, despite all the stuff that's wrong with the game.

No news feed updates since October 17th.

I mean it's a Ubisoft title, you expect like back to back fucking shit here. Even if it's generic "Here's how to play" guides.

I know they postponed their other big name titles because they're dumb and apparently were going to just make everything a games as a service game.

But I didn't hear anything about abandoning Breakpoint lol. Wouldn't surprise me, game felt abandoned starting with the betas.

I'm 82% done, figured I'd log in to finish it. Things that have made me laugh so far:

1 - ALL other players in the base camp look identical. No one cares about customization lol

2 - The NPCs that you interact with for missions have different voices for cutscenes than they normally do. Meaning, you'll talk to someone with a thick ass accent and then after the cutscene ends they'll have some white Wisconsin nerd accent and tell you to stop bothering them.

I had this happen after a scene with an enemy deserter. He was giving the big man talk of how he was only telling me where this base was because it would make it easier for all his friends to kill me. Cutscene ends and he immediately cowers away and whimpers "please stop, you're making me nervous".

I'm on PS4 and haven't had anything quite that bad, although I have lost the ability to use my drone on a couple of occasions. Had to log out and back in again to fix that. I did get a video of the time my bike got stuck trying to go up an incline that was too steep. Couldn't turn left or right, I was trying all combinations of accelerate and reverse, and all of a sudden I get fired backwards probably a couple hundred metres down a mountain. Only lost about half my health from it, too.

@LividDK - lmao that was literally the same guy I was just talking to. I had it happen before with the Russian spy character, too. Guy has a thick ass accent, then you end the cutscene and he's like "You're pissing me off guy!" in a Dave Chappelle white guy impersonation voice.

I restarted the game and then I fell under the water at that Shark Base that the deserter sends you to.

I can't wait to finish this shit up. I don't know if I'll ever touch it again but at 61+ hours I'm ready to at least knock the story out.

Not a bad choice. Maybe they'll fix some of the shit by then. I can't believe that it still tells me I completed the tutorial mission every single time I launch the game.

I heard they were gonna pretty much rebuild it from the ground up into what people thought it was. So, they're either taking time to fix it or they just gave up.

Since you're one of a few to bring this up, I decided to look into this a little more...

And as such, the company is preparing to release two separate updates for the looter-shooter in November that will "[focus] on the most pressing issues." These include fixing Drone deployment, changing the fire rate, addressing night vision googles blocking crosshairs, and patching the Mission Completion notification pop-up.


Sounds like some really generic shit they could be fixing with hot fixes -_-

And they're talking about "fixing the economy" but there's nothing wrong with the economy? It's just a really grindy ass game.

Jesus this fucking checkpoint. You go through a base, enter a building and trigger a cutscene with a boss following that. Where do you think you respawn if you die? At the beginning of the boss fight? At the entrance of the building?

Nope, way the fuck outside the base.

Also I just realized, I'm curious how they're going to add AI teammates when the base AI can't even use ladders...

Yeah, it's all set up for DLC and extra story chapters. And since everyone dies with a single headshot they had to give the boss some bullshit magic drones to protect him and draw out the fight.

Although it felt ridiculous that some of the "alpha" Wolves died so quickly (mostly without a fight or even detecting me) so I guess I don't really know how they could have handled boss fights.

Also just realised the raids aren't live at the moment. Think I'm moving on to other games until some content comes out to make it worthwhile playing again. I've barely touched any side quests because they didn't seem worth bothering with.

Yeah, one of the "Alphas" I killed was through a locked wooden door, because I guess there's a keycard to open the doors but I didn't find it. So I just shot enemies through the door until they all died, and then the doors opened up

Final boss was literally just run up some stairs, wait for enemies to come around the corner, shoot them, wait for boss to come around corner, shoot the drones down, shoot him in the head. Too easy.

And the Raid not being live is annoying as hell if only for the fact that it keeps pushing the mission to start the Raid on you... but you can't start the raid.

Did they fix dead enemies falling out of helicopters? I saw that in a video and that was absolutely hilarious that they allowed that in the final game.

I'm not sure about that specifically, but enemies do survive stuff like explosions against helicopters and it's weird to watch. Especially when they haven't detected you yet, so you knock the bird out of the sky with a rocket and then the pilot and passengers go alert and start shooting at you even though their helicopter's crashing.

Wait they don't have AI teammates yet? Damn I am REALLY glad I didn't get it.

Yup, no AI teammates and no competing factions like in Wildlands. The only time I remember seeing one computer character shoot at another was after rescuing a prisoner, and then they pick up a weapon and start shooting at the enemies. Except they die way too fast, and it's not like Wildlands where you save three or four prisoners, there's just one.

Also the "Green" side missions (like recover supply drops, hack computers, etc.) return as daily missions - you can do up to 8 a day, and they unlock bonuses from new gear to blueprints for special skins and emotes. So I kind of like that.

What I don't like is that airplanes are completely pointless. I flew a plane twice, and that's just because I happened to be by an airport and there happened to be a plane there. I found another plane "in the wild", on some hilltop but I crashed before I could get enough lift to clear the treeline. And you'll find runways full of static drone models but no airplanes, it's weird.

It's like halfway there but not quite. Like it stepped in the "morph machine" but they took it out thirty seconds before the timer rang. Shooting feels very much like Wildlands except for when you're fighting bulletsponge drones, but even at max gear level the drones aren't that hard regardless of difficulty. Except for the shitty airborne spiral drones that just fly around like fucking UFOs and are hard as shit to hit for no reason other than bad programming. There are gear levels but the gear levels don't tell you jack shit, and the unique weapons are pretty bland.

Overall the game just feels ... incomplete. It's empty as shit and the story actually might be good, except they didn't finish it so I can't even say lol. I do know I'd rather vomit diarrhea out my mouth and choke to death on it than listen to some of the dialogue and shitty voice acting set in these sterile mickey mouse environments.

Yeah there's an airport that I don't remember ever going to for any mission (maybe though?) at the south of the main island with a plane. And like I said one random plane that spawns where you'd normally see a motorcycle or SUV in the woods. I really, really miss the classic "steal the helicopter/plane with supplies" missions in Wildlands :|
