I understand it if some jerk is doing it to gain some monetary benefit or pick up chicks, but 90% of the time its either kids are in JROTC or someone in their family gave them the uniform. So while 90% of those people wearing ACUs with Marine Corps rank insignia probably aren't doing anything terribly offensive, the fact is they are putting themselves in a position to take advantage of that public trust.
