I think it had something to do with his opinions on Japanese games. That was the straw that broke the camels back, but he had been harassed consistently, and, unfortunately, he was the type to take that sort of thing to heart. Part of his bad rep is warranted; he was shitty to Japanese devs at a game dev conference. He couldn't handle forming his own indie dev company and had protracted legal battles with his first business partner. I think I remember from Indie Game: The Movie that his wife left him during the five year production. He blamed Microsoft for not promoting it enough during its one year exclusivity lease, said a bunch of stupid shit online, may have been doxxed, and then quit Fez II entirely. I just read he was involved with SUPERHYPERCUBE, a VR game that's right up my alley... if I had VR. It all sucks, 'cause I would love to experience Fez II based on how much I enjoyed the first. cjsdowg posted... I might be getting him confused with the wrong indie dev. You're thinking of Soulja Boy with Jonathan Blow's Braid - SB's later entry to the game world by selling garbage Chinese knockoff consoles at an inflated price was fucking hilarious. Braid was amazing, and The Witness is fucking insanely good. First person puzzle game with zero instruction where perspective is key and you feel like a genius as you progress.
