Unless there's a game where you playing as a ruthless Sith or a Jedi only fighting droids I don't really see it being a big thing in a game. It doesn't look heroic for a Jedi to be cutting hundreds of people into little pieces.

This isn't a Disney thing either. It's always a thing. KOTOR was a turn based game with canned animations and it didn't have it at all.

So basically they're doing exactly what the movies do. Dismemberment for robots, alien monsters and important moments.

I didn't have time to see the entire video, just kind of skimmed through (because I'm at work). But from what I see, the bosses, very key encounters. And they're made up of sone creatures and robots, which seem what Respawn is going for.
But tone deaf people want to have it where you're running down the hallways hacking every single person you come across into 4's, and then having a hard time understanding why developers refuse to do that in a T rated Star Wars game.

Now I will backpedal a bit and say traditional Stormtroopers and people wearing some kind of heavy full body armor you can maybe get away with. That's a huge maybe. Mainly because they're these faceless, fully covered models.
But if we're talking, say; Imperials that are wearing lighter armor where you can see more of the person underneath (like their face most importantly) or human enemies that are like bandits or something, then yeah. There's no way they're going to let you lob their heads off and slice them in half.

Can you really blame people for wanting a Star Wars skinned Metal Gear Rising though?

That's the thing. I can totally see why people would want that. It would be pretty rad. But whether or not I can cut people up with a lightsaber wouldn't exactly be a make or break thing.

That's the part I don't get. When those people try to make it into a thing that NEEDS to be in these games. Like, this should be a mandatory feature in a Star Wars game or else it's a deal breaker.
These same people proceed to have a hard time grasping exactly why developers don't do it considering the franchise and the rating these games tend to get, as well as seeing it from a business perspective.

Unless we get a M rated Star Wars game (good luck green lighting that), we won't be lightsabering smugglers in half vertically any time soon. You'd think people would accept that at this point lol
