PS4 and PC have cross-play, the only thing that matters is data center and server to a lesser extent.

So after downloading the patch and playing some last night, my Laima character is a level 11 arcanist. I haven't played the behemoth character since I got ff14.

I believe you can do the free trial either through steam or the square enix site.

BUT PC accounts are split via Steam and "normal" sources. So if you end up playing on Steam for the free trial, you have to buy the game and expansion through Steam to keep your character. Just keep that in mind for sales or whatever, it screws people over occasionally.

So, is there a Canadian version of the square-enix site? Or is it just American/in American dollars? Still unsure if I should buy it on the SE website, or through steam.

Pretty sure it's just the general NA store which is in USD.

I'd probably go with a non-Steam way to purchase the game. I don't know if you plan on getting the full edition or not, but if you're only grabbing ARR for now, expansions tend to go on sale more often on Amazon/other retails than on the Steam store. Theoretically they're identical otherwise.

So basically the only difference is price? That makes sense. I was thinking of just getting the bundle, so I have them all for whenever I get to each. I'll price match and such when I get home, to see where the cheapest option would be.

I might recommend spending Poetics on Scaevan gear at Rhalgar's Reach now that you're 70. They're not really useful for anything else right now (and you're constantly showered with them anyway). The final solo duty in the last post-SB patch was a real bitch for me without that jump to 390.

Was just barely able to do that one on WHM before the expac.

Now there is easy mode if you can't beat the dps check.

Yeah, content at the end of Stormblood is balanced around the assumption the player is at least ilvl 370. If you're below that you're going to have a bad time.

They also just recently patched in item level requirements for the leveling dungeons in Shadowbringers. I don't recall what they are but the 390 gear you can buy with poetics should do the trick for all of them, and you can upgrade them to 400 if you have extra tomes.

The story does gear you, of course, but the 400 stuff should be good enough if you want gear for alts, just for reference.

Oh yeah, literally the first thing I did when I got done with the last 3.0 trial was run to Rhalgr's Reach and get Scaevan gear. I'm average ilvl 395 now since I upgraded the weapon and a couple other pieces.

it depends on if you're a literally insane person like Dante or not

edit: not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I appreciate Dante being stuck in Eureka forever to get me hairstyles

I'm buying and downloading tonight finally. I debated waiting to see if it would go on sale for Black Friday, but meh, I'll live if I miss that. Can't buy it from the Squeenix website for whatever reason, causing me issues (likely has to do with me living in Canada), so I'm going to grab it, and the expansions, on Steam.

At level 15 before the first dungeon you can unlock the challenge log in Limsa so don't miss that. Also if you want to play as a rogue/ninja, pick a Limsa job (Maurader/Warrior or Arcanist/Summoner) and you'll be able to switch to it as soon as you can change classes at level 10 iirc.

Otherwise just focus on the story and have fun!
