I should caveat the exception is obviously where you technically have a 9-5 job as per the employment contact (which I pretty much do 8:45-5:15) but have done overtime almost everyday of my work life.

Basically what I'm doing next month. I already cancelled my Netflix which comes into effect tomorrow I think. I watch free Youtube content and will be doing 1 or 2 side hustles. Also leaning toward getting a roommate since I only use my bedroom to sleep. Already rent out my basement too. Money money <_< In the long run all this will pay off.

I might even setup a secure home network and do co-working so lease my living room space for freelancers or someone. No need to sign a 1 year lease. Just pay a small fee for a month to use my wifi and we can network.

Living pay cheque to pay cheque isn't fun. I know people who make close to 6 figures and don't have much to show for it that overspend on material stuff daily. It all adds up in the end and they look around saying they still want more money.

Sometimes people get caught up with suddenly having disposable income and splashing it as soon (or even before) they earn it.

It's tougher with kids if you actually want to spend any time with them after work and before they go down for bed. It's sad to think I only get a little over two hours per day with my oldest.

I don't think most of us are doing what we are to get a mansion and new cars. We just wanna be slightly better financially. If a little hard work pays off some extra cash then great.

If watching TV more often than side hustling pleases you I say do what makes you happy. I grew up watching tons of tv and playing games as a kid. That desire isn't there anymore. If I start my own side business and it grows where I can hire people and just get sales then that would be awesome.
