Went to get lunch so I listened to like 4 tracks. Gonna provide detailed reactions but I am disappointed in the lengths of the songs. From what I saw many songs are under 2 mins. I miss the MBDTF days where had multiple 8-9 minute songs :(

overall i enjoyed it more than i thought it would, but that's not saying much as i haven't truly loved any project from him since 2010. i liked the beats, the choirs, and the singing. his bars weren't great, and while i don't have a problem with the subject matter, it's not something i really feel like hearing from kanye after all his fuck shit.

I liked the album but Id put it pretty low on my Kanye list. I hope we get the old Kanye back someday

Good album, but he has so many insane albums this is fairly low on the list. That Kenny G solo tho was fire.

So I am finally able to judge these songs.

Every Hour
A fantastic opening to the album. Very loud, very enjoyable track. Not too religious either.

Selah
Way more religious tones. Really did not care for the alleluia chorus in the song. Sounded like a religious anthem. Did not care for it.

Follow God
Sounds like old Kanye. Very good song. It does not seem finished though as it is a very short song, less than 2 minutes. Like the ending too, just happens too quick.

Closed on Sunday
Chic-Fil-A!!!! Decent song and it fits on the album. Nothing too remarkable about it though. Decent beat.

On God
Love the beat on this song. Kinda sounds like a Graduation song mixed with something on Yeezus. Again though, it is so short.

Everything We Need
Kinda slow. Pretty mellow. Not much rapping on it either. Another song that is just there for me honestly.

Water
Really like the chorus in this song. Pretty soulful. I just really dislike Kanye's verse in the song.

God Is
Very pretty song. No rapping but that is fine. The choir is nice, and the vocals are very different sounding. Good beat too. Very quality song.

Hands On
The album is definitely ending strong. I love that kinda...yawn? sound effect that cuts off the song during the beat. A little quiet and slow for my liking, but a good song.

Use This Gospel
The unquestioned best song of the album. Great vocals from all involved, good vocals, and that Kenny G solo put the song over the top to make it by far the best on the album.

Jesus is Lord
Not really a song since it is less than a min long, but the trumpets sound great.

Overall, decent album, but is pretty low on Kanye's discography because of how amazing some of the other stuff is.

I went to the listening party in LA last night. The album fucking slaps, don't be fooled by the gospel theme, it's not boring choir music like it seems to be. Sure there's some preachy choir singing in it here and there but maaaan when he dropped one of the more high energy rapping songs, the crowd went fucking wild. Yeezy still spits mad bars in the songs.

Now that I know the name of the songs in the album, the song I was talking about is Follow God

Still my favorite song off the album, Ill never forget the incredible crowd reaction to it being played to us at the listening party for the first time

Use This Gospel has become my favorite song on the album. I got college dropout vibes from it and Kenny G is straight

Why is a guy who blasphemed Jesus by calling himself Yeezus, married to a lady who shows off her fake butt on insta for a living now making an album trying to appear religious?
I really am curious as this is my perception of what is going on.
