Imagine if I borrowed a large sum of money from you, fully understanding that I would have to pay it back. Then I said "I don't feel like paying you back. My loan should just be forgiven."

Don't take out a loan if you aren't going to pay it back. It's fucking simple.

Not so simple these days. Still want educated teachers? You have the option of loan forgiveness, cheaper schools or paying teachers more. This stands for everything but lawyers and doctors, pretty much.

I had no student loan debt. My family paid for it all. 7 years total. I did not find work immediately, and when I did, I was able to save right off the bat.

I believe in debt forgiveness. I was lucky and had a parachute. Most people do not. My life would have been ruined without one. Instead, I had the breathing room to get my life in order. Even though I had to deal with being a fresh grad in the middle of an economic collaspe with a post grad degree.

I am not bitter about the prospects of people getting bailed out and my family not. Rather, I am happy others can get a shot like I did.

There are way more important things we can do with that money, like building Trump's border wall or medical debt forgiveness. Because sometimes people need to go to the hospital to live, and wind up in huge debt.

They just need to make the last couple years of high school an Associates Degree. By that I mean teach to an Associates. Nobbbbbbbody is getting anything out of PE or dumbass history classes. Create classes relative to the working market. Why don't they teach students in public schools marketing, taxes, investments, programming?

When I was 17 I went to get a Limp Bizkit tattoo and when they wouldnt let me because I didnt have a guardians approval, I cried and punched a lamp post. 3 months later I was allowed to take on $119,000 in loans to go to art school.

honestly they should just be allowed to default on loans

it'll make the government think twice about zero collateral lending, students think twice about college, and colleges think twice about prices

18 year olds cant take out a personal loan in most cases.

But suddenly can take out 50k+ without a collateral or cosigner if its for school.

I wonder why that is.

How do you figure they can't take out a personal loan?

Maybe dont take out $100000 loans for a degree in music appreciation would also be a good idea
