I have been debating on whether to watch El Camino and I just keep leaning towards no because Jesse was such a shit character on the whole series.

So, anyone care to tell me why they like Jesse so much?

The whole time he came accross a piece of shit that did nothing good or worthwile. At max, being nice to that one kid. And that is it.... then everything else is just him being an idiot.

There was a point in the series where he really seemed to be getting his life straightened out and growing as a character... then he threw it all away and got worse than he was at the start.

Yeah he developed a lot, and tried to get out/be better than he was. It was a contrasting viewpoint to Walter who ended up being a pure ego driven psychopath who didn't want Jesse doing better for himself.

Honestly, other then possibly Mike, Jessie was the most moral character on the show. Walt was always an arse, but we saw the show through his eyes, so he kinda got a pass. Most of the other characters were scum pretty much.

Jessie started off questionable, but still not horrid, but actually drew the line on what he would or wouldn't do, cared about others (even loved them) and tried to get out of the buisiness.

Mike is my fav char, but Jessie, tough certainly more annoying at times, is my second favorite.

mike is not a "moral" individual. he is a cool and interesting character, and easily one of the best on the show, but the man was a fucking criminal. he has at the very least trafficked drugs, stolen, and murdered.

there were plenty of characters in breaking bad who fall much farther to the side of morality than mike

yeah, Hank was the most morally stable character in the show. It's literally his flaw and his downfall.

I was trying to think if there was anybody BUT hank who I could give it to since the generic lawman being lawful good seemed too obvious, but I think you're right. Only once in the show does hank snap and do something questionable, which seems like a longshot better than anyone else.

Hes a likeable and relatable character while he was dealing with the asshole who Walt turned into.

At some point midway through the series, Jesse and Walt kind of switched places on likability

Shrug, I don't know. Mike was a cop, and he obviously did things that were illegal, but I don't remember him killing anyone that didn't attack him first at least (or threaten him etc). He always tried to do the right thing from what I saw, and basically died because of it.

Might also be because I watched BCS more recently and Mike was moral in that pretty much, and everything he did ...was for his grand daughter.

And I did say possibly Mike, I realize he isn't some hero or saint, he does bad stuff, but I don't care, I like him.

yeah Mike in Breaking Bad was way more morally corrupt than he was in BCS. He was a straight hitman at times.

Nah, I got a whole, holier then tho, feel from hank, like he also might secretly smoke pot behind closed doors while arresting people for it, I don't know, he just felt sleezy to me sometimes. His motivations were about pride and being right etc.

Mikes was about survival, taking care of his family, trying to protect the people he considered under his protection etc. Even people he didn't like, Mike tried to save.

Hank, just dgaf about anyone who might even be slightly illegal, and he joked about it a few times as well.

That is sad:( I have to rewatch Breaking Bad...was gonna do it before watching the movie, but it's too long and I have other stuff I have to watch.

I think that is the worst fall from grace in the show, not Walt (who was always kinda an arogant prick), but Mike, who started off as a cop, then just did minor things on the side, and ended up a full criminal:(

Meh, I really didn't see his "development"

Let's see, my first memory of Jesse was him taking Walts life savings and spending it with his boys at a stripclub. Then getting lucky since his friend had an RV.

Then he gets beat up by Hank (due to his own fucking stupidity) and somehow thinks this is a free pass to do anything.

Gets onto the Lab and starts dicking around.

Gets Emmo girl re-addicted by smoking Meth in front of someone who he knew was an addict because one bad thing happen to him, when 2 episodes ago he wouldnt even hit the bong in front of her.

I could go on, but you get my point. I fail to see how he became "better" and he was a big hipocrite for the most of the show./ So it's ok to kill adults, but kids get a free pass? Fuck this dude.

I have seen Breaking Bad twice, and every scene with Jesse just makes me cringe at how stupid he fucking is.
