No. Being stuck on Chrome is way more restricting than you might think. It can run android apps and stuff, but its not fantastic.

If you're like a student or just need a computer to be mobile and have another one its fine, otherwise its only a little bit better than trying to use an ipad as your PC

Mine ran into a weird issue with the battery after like a year, but that might just be an issue with the model (one of the cheaper ones).

that doesnt sound good... i was thinking since on my windows pc all i really do is use browsers, spotify, ms office & read pdfs that i could feasibly replace it with a chromebook but maybe its too restrictive

I use it when I travel, it gets the job done and its pretty light and portable so I think it works for me. But it definitely sucks not having access to your normal MS office products, at least for me

There are a lot of things that you might not use a lot but when you flat out can't use a certain thing on a . chromebook, its a much bigger problem.

If you still have a regular PC and need to do basic stuff like browser, E mail and such from mobile you can probably be fine, but might run into some of these awkward issues every now and again.

If you aren't a student or anything, a lot of these can disappear for you mostly just knowing you won't need to download this weird excel add on for a class or something.

I have the original one that they gave out for free. I don't think it's a true pc replacement at all.

It would be fine for grade schoolers and maybe the absolute poorest university students that aren't taking STEM classes. It's not a replacement for Windows or Linux though

Chromebooks are meant as an iPad competitor not a PC competitor.
