Board 8 > Hollow Knight's final boss is rough (spoilers)

Really wish I didn't have to fight The Hollow Knight every single time just to get to the boss

It just feels pretty pointless and makes it more time consuming to learn the boss patterns, especially since you get full health once you get to Radiance

I've died a few times to The Hollow Knight just because I've been getting impatient and just want to get on with the real boss fight

I remember The Hollow Knight portion being pretty trivial and quick after a couple attempts and I got the pattern down. I don't remember my exact setup but I'm pretty sure he gets shredded by one of the upgraded spells and leaves himself open reasonably often.

Actual final boss is pretty rough, though. And the DLC bosses were even harder, never beat them.

The DLC bosses make it seem doable with your eyes closed by comparison.

Yeah the HK fight isn't hard, just annoying to have to repeat. It's just that I keep trying to speed it up by being overly aggressive and end up dying.

Also as for being the DLC bosses being tougher, I accidentally skipped the boss for The Grimme Troupe and the other DLC is boss rush so \_()_/

IIRC the final boss' first or second phase is its most dangerous, so if you can survive its opening salvo it gets substantially more doable. Don't give up!

I was trying to beat Grimm first, gave up and the final boss seemed like a relief in comparison. I stopped playing after that. Didn't really want to deal with Grimm, and Godseeker seemed like it would be even harder.

Godseeker starts tame enough; the first pantheon or two is completely reasonable.
But yeah, completing the Godseeker content fully is incredibly tough.

The HK fight isn't hard if you've played enough to get to Radiance after. I was surprised how much trouble he gave me when I was going for the speedrun achievements.

The first phase is by hard the hardest part yea.
Once you get to the bit where he's dropping swords it becomes a lot easier.

I didnt think the final boss was that hard. It also took me like 200 tries to beat Grimm so I was used to some serious punishment by then

Grimm is actually super easy once you know his moves. Even the harder version of him.

Tips for Radiance

On the phase with platforms, just stand on the bottom middle one instead of jumping around. If he spawns close to you swing upwards to continually hit him. If he spawns away, just sit there and easily dodge his projectiles while waiting for him to come back. Gives you plenty of time to heal and dodge no problem. The final phase is ridiculously easy and you probably won't ever even get hit let alone die on it.

Radiance beated. I followed this strategy during the platform phase, except minus the healing since I was using Joni's Blessing (more health but it's all blue health).

And yeah, that final phase was ridiculously easy!
