Movies that are strictly comedies have been pretty consistently bombing in the box office the past few years. If anything, I'd say a lot of hybrid films, like horror comedies, are really making a rise as of late. Get Out, Us, Ready Or Not; even the shitty B horror movies like Truth Or Dare and Escape Room have been incorporating more comedic elements and as a result, while not making them good movies, they're significantly more enjoyable as a result. So if anything, I guess I'd say dark comedies are the ones that are really standing out on their own; more light heated comedy has more blended itself into more mainstream action films like the MCU films and such. --- "She was like, 'Oh, did you see that firefighter? I can understand that being upsetting if you liked the books and wanted a faithful adaptation but I think he did fine in the role as it was portrayed in the movie.
