20 minutes in so far he's talked about when he first encountered the game on the release date, the box art and the game players magazine review

Also I now know Tim Rogers has hyperthesmia

A memory condition where you can't forget things and you literally remember every detail of every day of your life

Gotta need a lot more proof than just saying you have it. Tim Rogers gets away with it because you really can piece together just how insane he is from all his writings.

Also, that's not even the right spelling.

I have hyperphantasia

It destroyed me when I learned that some people have hypophantasia and cant imagine things visually. I cant imagine life like that.

i saw someone on the internet describe it as if you ask him to image a car, he knows what parts make up a car (wheels, body, hood, headlights) but he can't actually visualize it. i wonder if there are any artists with this condition.

yeah i have aphantasia. i didnt realize that everyone else wasnt the same as me until like 2 years ago. and unlike many people with aphantasia I cant even see my dreams visually either.

The point where i realized it was basically brought along by a discussion in an English class where i mentioned that i usually just skim over all the description parts in books because i have no visual conception of what any of it looks like.

otherwise Id probably have no idea that i was even different than anyone else

This is the first I've heard about hyperphantasia, but that seems like what I have too. My imagination has always been very active and vivid.

I feel like that's my main source of anxiety too, since I often can't control what my mind sees.

My bad, it is aphantasia, not hypophantasia like I said.

The ironic thing is that I skip long descriptive text too sometimes because Ive already got the whole scene in my mind and I dont need any more details

Heres a really easy test

If I ask you to mentally picture an apple sitting on a table, does your mind just automatically craft an entire room for that to exist in without prompting? If so you probably have some level of it. Its a spectrum like most things

Oh god, he spends eight minutes talking about the box the game comes in, followed by spending TWELVE minutes on an issue of Nintendo Power discussing the game, and then spends one last minute talking about how hes written an article that essentially starts FF6 came out at the same time some arsonist tried to destroy my schools gymnasium.

No, fuck this, Im gone.
