I have an idea for a good community-focused activity to do during November. Think Inktober, but on a smaller scale and for writing.

Each week of November, I post a prompt for people to write about. They can use this prompt in any way they can - if the prompt is "Ring", it can be about anything involving that word - a phone call, a church bell, a wedding etc. The focus right now is primarily on creative writing over like prose and stuff, but poems and Twine games and stuff are welcome too. If that's too dry, then maybe we can do other mediums or bonus prompts.

I thought about it as a competition, but I don't know how to set up judges and prizes and shit like that. It'd pretty much just be a bunch of CEmen bro-ing out and writing. At the end of the week, everyone posts their work and we decide which story we like best or something. Maybe I can revive my Geocities page and post everyone's work on there.

How does that sound? A CE-centric creative writing event over the course of November. Four weeks, four prompts.

Kinda, yeah. Basically a less ambitious nanowrimo - as long as your short stories are over 1,000 words long, they're counted. Or if they aren't that long, they're counted as "flash fiction" or something.

I'm not encouraging people to write their dream novels or anything, the writing challenge would be open to shitposts and joke entries as long as they're legible/literate shitposts and joke entries. Something like "poo poo banana" written over and over again would be frowned upon, but something like "Frank gasped audibly as Vegy squeezed his buttock; he had anticipated a CEman meet-up, but never to this extent", etc. would be fine. Basically, I was thinking a low-stress event for people to fuck around and have fun. With a deadline and prompts to keep things moving - but primarily just to fuck around and have fun.
