Then always be attendant to the desires of the Daedra, save Clavicus Vile, as you can miss out on the Oblivion Walker achievement by not getting their artifacts. You can make up for one missed artifact though by getting two of them from Hircine's quest.

Really think about at least getting Skytweak later on to set scaling for destruction.
Or lowering the difficulty.
Or enjoy getting to cast

Oh I lowered the fuck out of difficulty. It's still not overkill like sneak Archer but I also became a spell Knight to be able to be useful at the normal difficulty

You're magicka starved in the early levels, so getting a good staff is recommended, but otherwise Destruction mage isn't as bad as people make it out to be. It's just so boring because you're endlessly looping dual-cast, twin cast, twin cast, repeat. Sure, with the Augmented element and Impact you can stagger everything up to and including dragons, but at that point it's just a matter of spamming things until the opponent dies.

Conjuration and Illusion are just easy mode regardless of difficulty. Silent Casting and the perks that let you mind control just about anything will handle almost any encounter that doesn't involve a dragon. On the Conjuration end you can either alternate between Potent Storm Atronachs and Dremora Lords, or farm up some Volkihar Vampire Thralls with smithed gear.

Unbound Storms, twin cast, turns you into a portable lightning storm. It's hilarious, but also dangerous for followers.

Paralysis Rune is also quite dirty. It's far cheaper than the standard Expert level Paralysis spell, and you can use it as a trap, luring in foes from afar.

The last time I played was on Switch, and I believe I played a mage specializing in Conjuration and Alteration.

Had a blast.

I have not beat the game yet. I have ton of mods, and i play for a while then work and life get to heavy I stop playing. Then I start over because I have forgotten everything that I did.

I do remember one thing, from my last play thru. My kid got a fox, then I killed it because it was creepy and hid the body. I think that was the last thing I did. I wonder how they will react when I come back.
