I asked Red but he has failed me (or he may just be busy, but shh) and I don't mind spending a little bit extra for pre-built as to not go through the hassle of putting it together but I am not sure where I want to go.

https://www.amazon.com/iBUYPOWER-Computer-Desktop-i9-9900k-9240/dp/B07J59V6PR/ref=sr_1_8?qid=1570386310&s=electronics&sr=1-8

This is the one I was looking at. I will be using it for gaming, streaming, and video editing. Does anyone have any insight on if this is just like some terrible deal?

also that only has a 240GB SSD windows is going to eat that thing up and you wont get to use it for anything else.

This is why I need help.

I told my fiance I had a guy for these things, Red. You were that guy.

if you're planning on upgrading the SSD then you might as well get a 1TB to stick into that and leave the 240GB as your OS drive

Just kind of tossed that together touching up around the price of your linked pre-built and going off the same CPU.

Theres plenty of modifications that could possibly be made. You could get a similar performing processor for a lot less(The extra cores still aren't really utilized in todays world but you are welcome to them if you want).

The GPU you can go crazier or cheaper for similar performance. Don't recommend going super crazy with like SLI or anything anymore because the support just doesn't exist.

Theres probably no reason to have a 750w over a 650w PSU in todays world, but i tossed that one in there anyway, can cut some price here if you want.

I just put in a 1TB SSD in there as a start for storage. But you are welcome to throw in more hard drives or drop to a 500/512GB SSD and then throw in a 1-3TB WD Black for simlar pricepoint.

You are welcome to still spend $20 to buy a working CD/DVD Drive as well. I have used mine maybe twice in the last 8 years so its not exactly the most necessary thing but theres always a chance you come across a CD/DVD you need to run.

I believe copyright issues or similar still make blu-ray drives a scam but I haven't looked into them in awhile.

Also i tossed a case on that build but that is highly negotiable.

Case is pretty much just a big chunk of metal anyway so there are lots of options.

So if you want to find something you'd rather look at occasionally go ahead.

It goes under the desk, it's OK.

Can you suggest more budget CPUs? Still good like you suggested, just cheaper

You can downgrade that to an i7 9700k for like $120 or so.

Also the difference isn't even cores anymore apparently its just a different multithreading capability that is in many cases a performance downgrade anyway.

So make that change.

Oh hey I'm going to be shopping for a PC soon as well.

Still need to iron out the budget with my wife, but probably in the 1500 range.

I don't mind putting it together to save money, but I'd prefer not to actually put in the process. I can do it but applying thermal paste makes me nervous at the potential money I could waste by screwing it up.

Definitely open to suggestions and willing to wait for black Friday or cyber Monday if it's going to help a lot.

we usually see the high end intel CPU's drop below $300 on those days. RAM and HDDs are still crashing in price as well.

I think GPU's have leveled off but you should be able to save a bit.

I bought most of my build on cyber monday a couple years ago. Definitely a good idea to wait.

@red13n

noticed a warning at the bottom of the build right before I ordered stuff. Anything to be concerned about?
