I've had a cold for the past few days.
I didn't google anything cold related (medicine, relief techniques, etc) I leave my phone in my room when I'm home, the only time I verbally mentioned something about a cold to someone was when my phone was in my room, downstairs. I was once in an hotel in Argentina. I saw an article for some sort of secret handshake between bartenders, turned out to be an add for a drink I've never heard of before. I open the minifridge to get something to drink before dozing off for the night, and right there in the center was said drink.

Another thing it may be doing is using your search data to determine other things about you and just guessed you had a cold.
There was a story about a woman who started receiving coupons in the male from Target for baby stuff before she even knew she was pregnant. Apparently her shopping habits gave it away or something.
