Looking for TV shows and movies. Just binged the original IT for like the 4th time and I loved the vibe of the 90s. Then decided to check out Gerald's Game. Pretty damn nice. Also saw the Mist movie again the other day. And of course the recent Pet Semetary.

Looking for anything out on the streaming services or the older stuff/mini-series stuff. Easy to find and watch and not obscure.

All I got right now are Dark Tower and 1922, which are next on what to watch.

I've been really fascinated by the subtle connections and the mythos behind these things. Seemingly horror in the general sense, but ethreal and cosmic like Pennywise and Randall Flag.

@OctilIery, any recs? I know you seem to love King stuff.

I'm assuming you know about the big ones (Carrie, Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile, etc).

You didn't mention Hulu's adaptation of 11/22/63 which is...alright.

Have you looked into Castle Rock on Hulu? It's a big mystery series set in the town and filled with references to the book, but telling an original story.

Netflix also has In The Tall Grass coming, by King and his son.

Some more overlooked ones are 1408, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Creepshow 1 and 2(therea also a remake on Shudder that is great, but only has one episode and one story by King), The Cats Eye, and Apt Pupil. If you want some goofier stuff, Maximum Overdrive and Kingdom Hospital are great.

There was a tv 4 night special for The Stand back in the 90s starring Gary senise and molly ringwald. I highly recommend checking that out, especially with a other The Stand tv special coming out soon on CBS streaming

Skip Dark Tower. Not even close to the source material to the point of being a slap in the face to fans.

I do recommend 1408 and The Mist, Shawshank, The Green Mile, Needful Things. Langoliers is good aside from the cgi used.

It is Arnold. He honestly carries movies and makes them rewatchable.

Btw tc

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_adaptations_of_works_by_Stephen_King

Cat's eye gave me nightmares as a child. The last story in it that is.

Maximum Overdrivr was kinda cool from what I remember.

Children of the corn spun into a franchise but I never seen any of them.

Tommyknockers was dumb if I recall.

Lawnmower man had a snes and genesis game lmao.

1408 had Samuel L. Jackson in it and was pretty good for run if the mill modern horror movie.

But, best of all is probably the Shining.
You have seen it right?

Misery was on Netflix at one point. IDK if it still is. I consider that movie to be a 10/10

The Shawshank Redemption is another standout Stephen King adaptation

I have not seen this but I haven't been avoiding it or anything. I don't know a thing about it. Maybe on some level I wrote it off as some chick flick cuz of the name - it's possible

Not Octillery, but Revival presents the afterlife as a Lovecraftian nightmare where every human being, sinner or saint, is forced to march by abusive, ant-like creatures. At the end of the march, they meet Mother, the eldritch horror that seems to absorb them into itself. The only thing you really see of Mother is a claw covered in screaming faces.

Infinitely.

The Jaunt is very similar.
