Poll of the Day > At this point I think 4K isn't so much about "WOW, SO MUCH DETAIL"...

Rather it's "God 1080p is blurry on this TV."

In other words I feel like the 4K experience I've gotten is just making full use of the larger resolution, not necessarily improving the amount of visual detail in a noticeable way to me. When I run non-4K content on my TV it's upscaled and soft, which is more annoying than a clean 4K image. If I had that same image running on a 1080p TV I usually appreciate it on the same level as a natural 4K image on a 4K TV.

4k is about screens taking up a lot of your FoV not having obvious aliasing.

I feel like 4K looks cleaner/better but it could just be my imagination as I don't sit that close to my 75" 4K TV. And my PC monitor is 3840x1080 lol.

To me most 4k TVs I've seen, mostly with Movies it seems like things are moving slower than 1080. Things are detailed, sure but it's still strange to the eye test, if that makes any sense.

A lot of earlier 4K tvs were 50hz so that was probably effecting you.

Too much detail is distracting. I think a lot of 7th gen games tried to be so saturated with detail, effects, bloom that it ends up being completely detrimental to the experience. (Making environments confusing, enemies harder to track, etc) Glad to see that 4K is more focused on reducing bluriness rather than filling every square inch with detail. Somehow the games seem more calming.

The point of 4k is higher detail at your focal point. Not the overall picture detail.
