You're working your ass off 40 or more hours a week and meanwhile, some other able-bodied man is sitting at home playing video games all day instead of working. Either his parents are supporting him or he's a deadbeat that let's his lady bring home the bacon.

I was always a little envious. I felt like they knew some kind of secret for getting by and I got screwed. I hoped one day I'd get rich and I could be that person who plays games and jerks off all day.

You can actually make a decent amount of spending change, depending on the place. And his weight. The more you weight, the more you can get. There are like 3 or 4 different weight classes. I'm, for example, in the lowest one. So, I make less money than most. But some places do special where you can get more money the more times you go a month. You can go twice in a 7 day period, have to wait at least a day before going again, and stuff. And for the place I go, you get extra for your 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th time a month, asking more each time. And got a bonus for your first time. And all you do in sit there and watch something (like Hulu or Netflix) for like an hour. I do that while having a job. Haha.

If theyre collecting unemployment benefits/welfare then it does impact you because your taxes are higher as a result.

On a per person basis, maybe, but with enough people doing it, it starts to cost something significant.

To put it in perspective, transfer payments is by far the largest expenditure item of the Australian government.

I'm on full time parental leave at the moment and thought I'd play a lot of games... and leading up to this I prepaid subscriptions for Xbox Game Pass (and bought a new gaming PC to match my Xbox One X), multiple games on Switch (Link's Awakening and Captain Toad) as well as PC...

... and I've had zero time to play :'(

If I weren't "being somebody's bitch" then there would be no clean pots and pans to cook the food with and due to his weight class it's usually like 20 or 25 dollars. He withdraws his cash spends it on cigarettes and weed and usually calls me at some point to voice his frustrations about having to donate plasma for cash and how hopeless his situation is. I mean imo he should be like LinkPizza and I and donate while having a full time job but he expects to make over 10 dollars an hour with no high school diploma in Alabama.

Who cares? When I worked 4 jobs, 40 hours plus 36 hours plus 20 hours plus 5 hours (not counting prep time for teaching), I didn't care what other people did. Now that I'm retired I only work one or two jobs at a time. And, being a woman, there are no "men like me" anyway.

If they have a skillset that's in demand, the should be working. People need their help, and they would probably get paid well, so them working would improve everyone's situation.

If they have no valuable skils and would have to send dozens of applications to even get a job, it's fine to not bother. There's no point in having all those people competing for the few available jobs they can do. Since the economy forces a certain percentage of people to be unemployed, it's actually better for them to enjoy their lives instead of wasting their time hunting for jobs.

I'm of the view that those individuals should be trying to improve themselves/learn a new skills/find a way to make themselves more useful to contribute to society. Similarly instead of blindly increasing handouts/welfare payments, governments need to help create both the opportunities to retrain/relearn as well as jobs both through the private and public sector. Anytime you walk down the road and you see something which could be improved whether it be litter or something broken or vandalised with graffiti, there are potential roles which need filling by unqualified/unskilled labour - and at least it's putting people to productive use which would otherwise be wasted. Obviously there's alot more thought that needs to go into such a scheme and some countries have attempted it, but I'd rather people get off their backsides and contribute in some way shape or form than not.

He doesn't want to do construction though he wants to be a entrepreneur own a dispensary in Colorado I'm not knocking his dreams but you need capital for all that shit. But hell yeah I'm gonna take advantage of all the construction in our area and try to get my CDL drive some dump trucks and lube trucks.
