Ojamajo Doremi and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Finished Symphogear, a very nice anime.
Positive feelings for showing young women through the hardships and battles they had, without reducing them to jokes or objects of desire, AND completing their character arcs in better places than they debuted in.
Neutral feelings for Genjuro literally sitting out the ending, yeah I know he was stabbed but that's the perfect time to make a motivational move for the students.
Negative feelings for Fin, that hag. If the main three were meant to be positive role models for young girls (and tbh, bloody moments aside I think this would be a fine anime to that end), Fin was the exact opposite. Maybe that wasn't meant to be the impression but if it was, the writer and director certainly succeeded <_<

She had a lot of bad characteristics tbh. Even if we're just talking about her villain's appearance then she was pretty much a sore loser and had made some questionable plays at best.

True but it is possible for the antagonist to be a role model or have redeeming qualities. Zengar or Boss occupy similar spaces to Fin in SRW and Metal Gear respectively, but their motivations are understandable and their traits (strength through training and experience, loyalty to the world at the cost of one's self) are generally positive, even if they work against the protagonist(s).

honestly I'd just recommend going in not knowing too much for each season, there are some good surprises here and there. it's not really the sort of show that needs prereq knowledge

Actually I guess I will say that season2 is probably the heaviest on the episode end cliffhangers out of all the seasons, so be prepared to accidentally watch more eps than you intended to

It has the best villain (IMO) in the whole franchise and (among those cliffhangers that kirbymuncher mentioned) one of the most shocking single moments in the franchise.

If by "upgraded" gears, you mean the sudden power-up they got for the final battle of season 1, then no, they don't get to keep those permanently. That's a special form they only get under special circumstances which won't be explained until later in the series.

Today's new episode (dubbed) of After School Dice Club was a lot of fun, especially that scene at the beginning with Maki. It looks like that one girl that Spidey had his eye on finally joins the cast next episode too.

Do we really need to plan for who makes a topic so far away at this point instead of just having who's making the next one? This topic lasted for two months, unlike some time ago when these topics did get filled faster. The pace of the topics getting filled out just seems to be getting slower and slower. It just feels like that level of planing ahead isn't really needed anymore imo.

Sounds good. Yeah the power up was what I meant, I'm glad they revert cuz I like the aesthetic of the plain gears much better.

I'd rather be safe than sorry. Having a concrete list like this prevents arguments like if multiple people suddenly all decide they want to make the next one and there's only like 10 posts left in the current one to decide between them. Plus it also acts as a deterrence to people from outside our group trying to make impostor topics, especially now with the block function being able to prevent people from seeing those topics. As someone who used to frequent another certain general topic that shall not be named years ago, I've seen it happen several times.

Their normal gear forms do get minor revisions over the different seasons (like Hibiki getting a badass scarf and looking more and more like Junk Warrior) and there's another different "power-up" form that you'll see in a later season.

I'm a big fan of scarves, this is exciting.
Mm those redesigns are pretty nice. I like the gradual enlargement of the battle boots and the clear/translucent parts on the last one.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I hope there is a lot of good food involved.

Finished binging Sakura Wars. The plot was taken in a completely different direction than the game, but thats aight. Its been years since I played the game with a translation guide anyway. Was odd how much focus was put on normal combat as opposed to mecha combat, something that never happens in the games. My biggest complaint: Wasn't cheesy enough. Cmon, Sakura Wars is cheese incarnate, you can't deny me the hilarious and over the top cheesiness I've come to know and love from the series lol.

Will figure out my next short series and probably start Kaliedo Star tomorrow.
