It's low effort, but the biggest problem is how little humor you can extract from it.

When you put too much effort into being offensive and not enough into being funny, you end up being a 12 year old edgelords. The problem, of course, being that said 12 year old is using the same jokes on adults when they've heard it many times before.

It's like walking up on stage, talking about how nerds don't have sex, and expecting anything other than a bored response.

It's okay to make fun of people for getting offended, but when you've committed a serious offense and try to roast people for serving you with disgust, that's not really commendable or impressive. It's not just bad form, it's being a shitty human being.

There's a documentary coming out next month ("No Safe Spaces") on PC culture and its impacts, including the effect it may have had on comedy clubs. So I guess we'll find out soon enough who was and wasn't really affected. You can just hand wave it away before it comes out, though, because it stars Adam Carolla and Dennis Prager with a special guest appearance by Jordan Peterson. I'm expecting fireworks on CE when it drops.

Wow that is something truly awful. This is like the extreme opposite of the anti woke comic. Why do comics have to keep going for woke or not woke? Don't we have comedy that avoids these topics all together. Everyone needs to put in their two cents about how progressive or not progressive they are.

Dave Chappell, Bill Burr, Aziz Ansari, and Hannah Gadsby all released stand up specials that were to varying degrees viewed as "important" rather than funny or not funny. I'm getting tired of this trend.

I like the concept of that documentary, but I vomited when you mentioned Adam Carolla. Dude just sounds so full of himself whenever he tries to make a point. Has a very "kids these days" attitude about him that involves constantly patting himself on the back for how he handles situations.

Pretty much this. This board is pathetically hypocritical.

Its cool for comedians to make fun of politics I dont like (Trump is the big one), but making fun of politics Im in to (outrage culture, being offended, etc)? Totally off limits and cringey.
