Especially users over 25. Instruments? Art? Hiking?

I started trying to get into stained glass, but have only spent maybe four cumulative hours on it in the past seven months. My upbringing was a little strange and I was discouraged from having interests once I was good at things.

What do you do to be alive on purpose?

Music, the big one. Ill go on hour long binges of finding new music and downloading it every couple of weeks.

And like a lot of young adults Im addicted to streaming shows/movies. Not saying its a hobby per se but I dont have horrific taste in that dept imo.

Do you have anything specific in mind for your new thing? I smoke plenty, but then it's all I ever want to do.

I restarted music lessons with a teacher I had over ten years ago recently, but life stuff has kept us from getting together for the past month and a half.

My 5 month old daughter takes up nearly all my time but isn't really classified as a hobby.

For fun I like to drink coffee and surf net/game/forum's at cafes, go for nice long drives and just walk around.

Just what looks good. Brands aren't a good judge of fashion unless you're rich, in which case you aren't even wearing what's fashionable so much as showing off your wealth and for some brands, connections/ influence.

Doesn't help that like 90% of all brands come from the same factory cities in China and Indonesia, so all that differs is label and maybe how many copies were made.

Forever 21's bankruptcy, if it closes down, would be a huge blow to my future wardrobe.

But I've also been considering just grabbing like a half dozen bartender outfits and using those, monochrome is never out of season if it's got decent flair.

Working with my dad ever since I could remember. my earliest memory was watching him conpletely paint my older sister's room from the ceiling to the baseboards by himself and I was in awe with how perfectly straght his lines were without tapes or gimmicks.

He lend me the roller and told me to finish applying the last coat. I was either in my late three's or early fours.

Guns or arrows? I want to shoot every deer I see, but haven't invested any energy into licensing or practice.

Yes. >_>

It's an expensive hobby, and it's dangerous if other people live with you, namely your kids. That's why I keep them out of sight and only fiddle with them if they're away from our house.

Swimming is bae.

Agreed. But, it always gets me extremely hungry after a few sets of laps.

Damn. My dad never really delegated anything to me. I chopped and hauled wood and was always allowed to 'help' in a childish way, but he never reached out for that final trust. Feels bad. I always admired his competence. He's still alive, but just as independent as ever. It takes a lot of pushing to be permitted to help, even though I moved back to help.

I live in a rural, hunt-happy area, but I know more about gun safety and storage than use. Did archery as a kid, just never for hunting. Got several buddies offering to help me out when I'm reading to take the plunge, so I guess I should get on that.

I'm a few months out from attempting my first bike tour, still training. I suppose I enjoy onebag travel, webdev, teaching, creative writing, reading books. If I get bored enough I can find entertainment in pulling things apart which ultimately ends up with me learning more because I need to repair my mistakes. A week ago I had to learn how to reprogram, remove and reattach a chip on my motherboard because I fucked it up tinkering so what was initially a nightmare turned into a great learning experience and I met a really interesting person doing great work on bootloaders as a result. This kind of thing happens to me often, server deployment comes to mind..

I'm in the process of tearing down my surly and putting it together multiple times so I know it like the back of my hand. It's still new to me and disc brakes seem like an unneeded complication that I'm not exactly sold on yet. I love camping, dabble in nature/landscape photography, have a camper van and have done extended cross country trips with it. I enjoy snowboarding and surfing but am pretty bad at both, the opportunities are rare for now. I've mostly lost interest in video games but if Stadia is any good I will subscribe and try my hand at some newer titles. Not so hot on dropping thousands on a gaming rig when there's way more important pursuits I'd rather put that money towards.

Also I am growing a few projects for passive income around various interests. If you're bored, find something to do. You don't even need other people, but they're sometimes nice to have around. I have plans to delve into video editing at some point, hopefully soon. Drinking and shopping are not hobbies, most people are convinced they are for some reason.

Edit: I'm 33.

I agree; I'm looking for hobbies because I drink and binge watch stuff too much. How do you bloc your time to fit all that in? I struggle to manage home, work, cooking and gym; even when I have spare time, I feel directionless in a way I didn't as a kid. I'll turn thirty-one next February.

Reading pretty much. I every morning I dedicate like at least 4 hours reading at the coffee place by my house. I guess the second closest hobby would be cooking. I avoid eating out at all costs. I'm very particular about my diet, so as to avoid eating literally the same meals every day I do try to experiment in the kitchen.

I'm already limited by the fact that I don't eat meats save for fish. Very rarely will I indulge in meat. So I try and branch out. I guess I more often than not make a lot of Mediterranean dishes. I'm of the opinion that the best falafel in town is in my kitchen. Every other place has them so dry and crumbly and maybe that's how it's supposed to be, but I don't like it.

Coincidentally I do a good amount of Thai and Indian dishes as well. Mostly curry.

Then I have my exceptions of course. If the my schedule allots the time and I'm in the mood I'll try my hand at some chicken mole.

Also just bought a sushi knife and mat. I generally prefer sashimi or nigiri, but trying my hand at a roll sounds fun. There's a lot you can do with those so that's my next venture.

I won't list the general stuff like working out or reading, but my interests are pretty varied. Most of them deal with the outdoors.

Hunting, fishing, kiteboarding, wakeboarding, kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain biking, hiking/camping, restoring arcade cabinets, wood working, disc golf, photography and videography (along with the editing that goes into them)

Travel if you can count that, though most of the time its used to do some of the above mentioned stuff. Like I just got back from a cross country trip to Utah the other day. Some of the best hiking I've ever done. Now I can't wait to start putting a video of it together

There are the things I've only done once like skydiving, where I would love to go again and maybe get certified, but that's probably something that's too much of a commitment.

Then there are things that I really want to incorporate into my life like scuba diving. Was going to get certified this year, but it fell through. That I would make time for.

There's just a ton of stuff out there I love doing. Sometimes it feels like I enjoy too many things and don't give enough time to others (for example I haven't had time to work on one of my arcade cabinets in months), but I have so much to choose from I can't remember the last time I've ever been bored.

I used to play a lot of golf until the bastard club became too popular and well established that the prices flew up.

Then I played a ton of tennis until the bastard school deconstructed it for they can expand their school.

Now I just go to the gym and jog a couple miles a few times a week. I tried to lift for half a year but didn't really see any difference. I didn't change my diet. And I don't want to change my diet.
