Nope.

Been a conservative all of my life with no signs of converting. Especially now with how the left presents itself. My whole family on both sides are overall conservatives too. How many blessings can one guy get, right?

My family is pretty much all hardcore religious conservatives too. They tried their best to indoctrinate me too but alas I actually think for myself and form my own opinions

Yeah, when I was a kid I considered myself conservative but as I grew older, I grew more left. As an adult I'm far-left.

As a teenager I was far more libertarian before I stopped having faith in the electorate to govern itself.

I don't think my views have really changed I just think the party I used to like no longer cares about this nation, democracy, or liberty so I'm not registered as a member and am more open to other options.

My priorities/focus has definitely changed. I am not as blindly swayed by new spending initiatives as I am impressed by fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets (and preferably tax cuts).

Yes. At one point I did care about the differences in the sides.
As I got older I realized both sides will fuck over anyone individually if it means more votes. So now I don't care either way.

Yeah, same. I feel like a lot of younger people go through a libertarian phase when they start learning about politics. The free market and freedom of choice aspects are appealing, but then you realize most of its supporters basically want to do whatever they want without repercussions.

The driver's license debate at the Libertarian convention earlier this year (and Gary Johnson being booed for supporting them) is a good indicator that most of them are fucking crazy.

Honestly no, I'm still a staunch libertarian

Often you'll see people like @Politics and @Hayame_Zero mention they grew out of libertarianism and have taken up (I'm assuming) a more left-leaning view, or worse yet the alt-right Hoppean crowd who bring it up as a stepping stone

but I've been where I am ever since my late teens and don't see it changing

I used to be a Bush hating, Jon Stewart loving moderate. Then i discovered Pat Buchanan and Michael Savage and my views drifted to the right on some issues. I still have leftist views about some social issues.. Gay marriage, the war on drugs, prison reform.

What about them unfairly banning conservatives vs liberals? Should we just let that be too? Don't you think some sort of policies should be in place to promote fair treatment?

What exactly do you want to happen? They're a private company so they can ban who they want for any reason they want. Do you want the government to step in and tell them who they can and can not ban or something?

Free speech is a negative right. Twitter, or any other private entity, is under no obligation to host views they do not agree with. Getting the state to force them to would be against the rights of the platform owners.

And as for alternatives, there's always Gab for the stuff they don't allow on Twitter

I've become a little less cynical about sweeping change in the government. As much as I hate that Trump is in office, he is proof that the monolith of the federal government is able to shift radically in at least a few areas in the modern era. I think this gives me some hope that change in a direction I'd approve of is in fact plausible whereas prior to his election it was just slight variations of the same centrists in power and I'd felt that it would perpetuate forever.

I was a pretty staunch conservative growing up. But I also grew up in a family that listened to talk radio and loved Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. >_> Ironically, hearing them, along with the Fox News propaganda machine, over the years is what turned me off the GOP in general. I know that there's corruption and media bias on "both sides", but there's something distinctly sinister about the modern GOP that I cannot abide.

I don't know if it counts as ironic, but I grew up in a Christian household, and a lot of those values that I was taught were what ended up pushing me to the left on a lot of issues. <_<

I know my story mirrors a lot of "I used to be liberal until I saw all the SJWs" anecdotes. And I know that real life is more complicated than a left/right binary can encompass. But on the broad spectrum of things, one "side" seems to have no problem putting the law, consequences, and authoritarianism before human empathy. And that's just not for me.

Nah, people on both sides (including those that supported Trump) will point to Trump as an anomaly and say "we shouldn't support [radical candidate] because remember Trump" in order to bash candidates promoting change.

Certainly possible, but I've no faith in this reaction to Trump swaying outcomes until I've seen it happen at the ballot box. The dems clinging to Biden might be evidence for that kind of reaction but it's still pretty early on and Bernie Sanders is still up there with him in most polls. There's definitely a segment but I don't think it constitutes a solid majority or any certain outcome yet at least. I could see Trump shell shocking the republican party more though if he ends up being a blight on their reputation in hindsight, in the event of some major indictment or Nixon level shit.
