Haven't picked up the game yet but Siren forever is my philosophy for first-time Borderlands playthroughs. (Damn you Pre-Sequel for not having one. Athena just isn't the same.)

I used Nisha my only playthrough and I liked her quite a bit.

I've put the most time into Amara and like her a lot, probably because early game phaselock is a) very strong and b) just Maya again. I've got a gun that applies three status effects at once, a class mod that grabs multiple enemies and applies burn, and abilities that both amplify my status effect damage and cause them to spread. It's so good. Her other trees seem to be something you build into later in the game once you have more skill points. Brawler with a ton of shield and health regen sounds like a lot of fun.

Moze is alright. I've pumped a lot of points into keeping Iron Bear up as long as possible, because I don't really understand her class otherwise? At least not yet at level 15.

Zane has a shield ability that works really well for establishing a choke point... which would be great if Borderlands combat scenarios were built around that. I respec'd him out of that and into the clone tree ASAP. He's fine, nothing special.

Well, duh, why would you do anything else? If anything, I'm wondering where PhaseWALK is, because that was the superior skill.

(I have not bought BL3, and will not any time soon.)
