Waiting to get home and play the Friday it comes out is gonna be painful.

Where the fuck are the leaks?

Also I don't know if I even want leaks, lol. I mean I know I want to see the starter evos and learn the version exclusives, but I don't know that I actually want to pre-plan a team this time. Between the exp share and pocket PC, managing a rotating team will be easier than ever, so maybe I'll just use anything and everything that looks interesting as I stumble across them.

That said I'm still gonna look at leaks because I'm weak.

But man, I haven't had the experience of discovering a new Pokemon in-game since Ruby. I kinda really do want to hold out, but I just don't think I can.

I'm telling myself, at least, that the only thing I'll willingly spoil myself on is Scorbunny's evolutions if/when the leaks finally surface. That'll help me determine which starter I'll choose between Scorbs and Sobbsie.

I can give it a pass this time they lack experience console wise, but hopefully the next game is better texture wise and stuff. Like hire outside of the Pokmon group if you have to because other Nintendo stuff has shown how good it can look

The graphics dont really bother me because Three Houses looked like shit and yet ended being a fantastic game so Im gonna wait to judge

I am not a sucker for graphics. Honestly I think Warcraft 3 looks great even in this day.
And hell, I think Pokemon Sword and Shield look pretty great...in some places (like the towns)
But the Wild Areas are looking so dull

3H and Sword are gonna be my first 2 Switch games

As someone who will play this game 99% in handheld, the Wild Area will still probably look okay on the smaller screen. But also if graphics meant that much to me I probably wouldn't still be playing the occasional 3DS game in the year 2019.

I don't really understand the people that want to play this game in handheld most of the time because this is the first game that is playable on a big screen TV (not counting things like the Game Boy Player accessory). Handheld mode is better suited for the people who are on the go very often and generally don't have access to playing their Switch in docked mode.

A lot of folks play games on the go these days, especially as our (overall) age group climbs higher and higher. Im 32. I know a lot of 32-year-olds who dont really have time to game on their TVs anymore but bring their Switches with them on a train commute or for their lunch breaks and so forth.

Personally, I dont have this problem I wanna play games almost entirely on my TV to this day because I still have more time on my hands than many thirty-somethings. Im not married, I dont have kids, and my workday is six hours per shift right now. (This lifestyle comes with downsides; Im not exactly made of money.)

Then there are people who just prefer not to stare at a television screen for long, and thats simply how they choose to game. Ive never been in that bracket and reckon I never will be, but I vaguely recall a sizable number of Board 8 members like this.

I am not watching trailers so I can't confirm if the right side picture is real or not, i'll just assume it is

Here's the problem

Some dude found a screenshot of the (unfinished, just for the record) game and spent presumably a decent amount of time editing it to make it look "polished"

That to me is a way bigger issue than any perceived "lack of polish" in the right pic. How far people are willing to go to stir up further negativity makes me much more sad than a videogame lacking detail

And then to top it off, "I'll just assume it is". Perfect. So it worked wonders and did exactly what it was supposed to, then.

I mean, don't just about all games visually improve from early footage to final release? Even Sword/Shield has improved from when we first saw it. The screenshot in question probably isn't early footage though.

It was parenthesis. I'm not expecting it to move on in leaps and bounds or anything. I was just saying the game isn't even done and out yet so that screen isn't necessarily representative of the final product. But it really wasn't the larger point I was making at all.

In isolation, no, it doesn't have to be at all. People do that sort of thing all the time. But I'm assuming, given the message accompanying that photo, that the person who made the screenshot edit is the one who posted that - and did so with the express purpose of bashing the game (or they got it from someone else who did it with the express purpose of bashing the game).

If they just did it for fun then I guess there's no issue.

However, if someone gets their hands on a physical copy of the game early, they can dump the ROM using a hacked Switch and send it off to Kaphotics or SciresM for datamining purposes. That is, if neither one of those guys are capable of getting their hands on a physical copy before release.

dude the improved one is literally like ps2 tales level of polish. if you dont have any standards, thats cool, but dont take people holding game freak accountable as "negativity"
