You guys know who youre gonna pick for a starter yet? I want to see what the evolve into before I settle, but so far its probably Sobble though Grookey is close. Might be best to go with Scorbunny just because they probably wont have a ton of new Fire types though

100% definitely Sobble. Sad boi for life

The other two are decent as well. I can definitely imagine Grookey having a great final form which could sway me.

I've always tended towards the grass starter, especially when it's the least popular, and this gen is not an execption.

the Affleck leak makes the Sobble evo sound most interesting tho

So while not confirmed, an Italian site is saying that not only are there more Pokemon on early routes than usual, but they're all new, and specifically draws a comparison to Black/White.

I mean this implies that Gamefreak would have returning Pokemon on early routes and not have atleast half of them be Gen 1

I could imagine, hypothetically, that there could be a relatively high number of non-gen 1 Pokmon in the routes because their last game was Lets Go and they dont want things to feel too samey for players coming from that game.

Pidove and Zigzagoon sort of hint that way at least. We know Butterfree is in the game, but maybe they throw Wurmple or Scatterbug into the early routes too and leave out Weedle... and other such things of that nature.

the rumor that all the Pokmon on the early routes are new sounds kind of crazy, but the part about having a lot more kinds of Pokmon on the route makes sense... I figure if theyre not putting every Pokmon in the game, theyll at least use all the ones they are including.

Also, about the strong Pokemon on the wild area? You can't catch them when you visit it for the first time. You can only fight or flee. The website confirms this. Presumably with more badges more Pokemon open up.

Confirmed no voice acting. One preview I read called it out on being kinda awkward since the trainers are more expressive with their mouth flaps.

You can't even blame Nintendo for this because other Nintendo games have voice acting like BotW and Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

This is all on Game Freak instead. Nintendo has no involvement in making this game.

There's been various bits of info coming from various interviews. Big thing is that there's an item you get when you first go to the Wild Area that lets you access your PC from anywhere, like Let's Go. Masuda also said they currently have no plans for another Let's Go, which isn't necessarily saying much, but I do at the very least take it as 100% complete Sinnoh confirmation, lol. They also commented that there is long term in-depth post-game content, but I still won't get my hopes up about that until I actually see it.

Gen 7 had probably the most pathetic post game content since we actually started getting post game content so my expectations are pretty low. Also even in the final build of the game the trees kinda look rough and stuff, but this is the first time theyve ever really done a Pokmon game of this scale

Between permanent auto-Exp Share and PC anywhere, I think I'll end up rotating through a whole bunch of Pokemon this time.

PC anywhere also curbs some of the worry of being overleveled because of the Exp Share, since you can just dump your high level 'mons in the PC for a bit while training a weaker Pokemon, then pop them back on the team when you're done, without hassle.

PC anywhere is dumb before you beat the game unless they change it so boxing a Pokmon doesn't give it a full heal.

These games are only three weeks away now. Surely the leaks will be coming any day now.

Well we might've had someone who works on the TCG leaking a bunch of Pokemon, but it could just be someone with too much time on their hands. And they may have exposed themselves for the fraud they are when they drew Galarian Vanilluxe, since we've already seen regular Vanilluxe.

Edit: oh Famitsu preview confirms the Move Relearner doesn't require Heart Scales anymore. Neato.

After Sun and Moon, that's a welcome change. Heart Scales were basically free, but you had to run around to a bunch of places to get them. Glad to see they're just getting rid of the middleman there.

I saw someone say the Wild Area is super barren and you only see 1 Pokmon at a time or something. I dunno how much of this stuff is true, but a lot of people are saying graphically even though its a huge step up compared to previous games that it looks pretty terrible compared to other current gen Nintendo games and even compared to some from further back. Im still gonna enjoy it though

We've seen footage of more than 1 Pokemon so people saying that are dumb

That clip is meant to show off the landscape, not the Pokemon, and then when you add that to the fact that they're purposely holding stuff back, including returning Pokemon, it was probably intentional.

It doesn't though? The third snowy area clearly has two Pokemon in the long grass and the sandstorm area showed at least four, maybe more.

I thought that second thing was Wobs tail somehow. I couldnt really make out anything for the sand part. I wonder just how many there will be. Theres only like a zillion Pokmon and probably an immeasurable number of each one. Im not setting expectations high, but it would be cool to see some fighting each other in the background and stuff. Man just 3 long weeks left

That picture of Xenoblade 2 is the replies as comparison is really damning however.

The rest of the region looks a lot better to me than the Wild Area. I think they're focusing too much on it, especially since unless there's a number of unrevealed features, it honestly doesn't look all that interesting to me. Like yeah I'll catch whatever I can and I'll do the occasional raid, but I don't see the majority of my playtime coming from there.

I really like the Wild Area because the thought of some dynamic weather interplay and wide open ranges sounds great. I dont know if Ill care to engage much with the raids, though. It doesnt really sound like my thing. Ill try it out.

That being said, Im quite glad we have traditional routes as well.
