Classic Crawford got a head start on getting pulled.

Here's a fun question for a team with a back-to-back: if your goalie gets pulled less than halfway through the game, who do you start tomorrow? What if Crawford is pulled at the end of the 1st period and Lehner plays the next two? Do you start Lehner again 24 hours later or go back to a (relatively fresher, lol) Crawford?

Legit possibility Crawford just stays in there because of the back-to-back. Blackhawks showed some life later on in the period.

Fun times in "Analytics Are Misleading" - The Blackhawks have the edge in possession, but are getting killed 4-1. And that edge in possession doesn't mean much, because if you watch the game it's obvious that the Avalanche are far superior.

Also, Gustafsson is back on my shitlist. I am eternally mad he was not traded in the offseason.

I'm annoyed as hell that Grubauer let in that one goal, so early in the game... and shorthanded. I expect that from Andersen but not from him!

I really wanted him to get a shutout but if he could just allow... between 0 or 1 goals the rest of the way, that'd be great.

btw Shadow, I dropped Dylan Strome a few days ago. I was getting blasted with all kinds of injuries at once and he was the lowest priority to save... he had a good run on my team!

And their next two games are against the Blues and the Bruins. The only reason those games could be mildly winnable is because they aren't as fast as the Avalanche are, but this is still potentially a four game losing streak coming their way.

Really, outside a week-long flash of competence, the Blackhawks have been dreadful this month.

You know, I want to say it is impressive that Koivu made it to 1000 games with the Wild, and other than Gaborik (who didn't last nearly long enough), Backstrom (who was REALLY fucking good for a couple seasons on a bad contract), and Parise/Suter, Koivu really is the best player the franchise has had long term...

BUT UGH. So much money for a "great" two-way center who amounted to, "Best player on a bad AHL level team, 2nd/3rd best guy behind Parise/Suter, and now, Staal is just plain better for half the money." Still, I don't know what I'm supposed to think. It's not his fault he was giving $7.5 million forever. I just don't think he ever justified it
